Welcome Anna. We currently have two females. One is 9.5 and the other is 12.5 pounds. My husband and I are trying our best to get some weight off the bigger one as well as doing it ourselves. I have a bigger cat who now resides with my parents. At one point he was about 14 pounds, but they got a new cat who constantly steals his food so he has actually lost a little bit. We think he might be a Maine Coon as well. He's bigger height and lengthwise than the other cats and he is extremely fuzzy. Anyway, good luck to you and welcome to the family.
Welcome to cat lovers! I had a huge beast at one time too-- he was 19 pounds! Now I have 3 smaller ones-- a 10 pounder then two little guys-- one is a year the other will be a year in August Gotta love a cat-- I prefer the males-- MY female is a bit stand offish!
One bite, one day, one pound at a time. Remember you are worth the effort!
I am so excited there is a cat lovers team! I am a certified cat lover and well on my way to being an actual "Cat Lady" (If only my fiance would agree to let me have more cats!) I have one cat currently. He is a monster - 20 lbs and he just turned 1years old a couple days ago! My vet can't figure out what breed of cat he is (he could be a Maine Coon, maybe a Siberian) all we know is that he is huge and runs my house. :-)
