I don't know about Cricket because I didn't get him until he was 10 years old, but I got all of my other 5 cats as kittens. They'd all been born outside and remained outside until I brought them home with me (not all at the same time...I've gotten kittens from three different litters). I think they miss being outside...so I make it as comfortable for them as I can by letting them sit in the windows. They love it. In the warm weather I will open a window for each cat, but I am NOT doing that during the winter, unless of course THEY insist that I do...LOL.

And I thought Smokey was the only cat to love to sit in the open window in the freezing cold! I said to my family that they should have some kind of exercise shown on SP for openining and closing windows! Smokey loves to sit in the window in the half bath off the kitchen. He stands on the vanity and meows at me and looks so loningly at the window that I go over and open it - after a couple of minutes he gets down and I close it - and so on and so on.....

MELA..I was here alone with the cats when that happened or I would have asked one of my sons to get a picture. Right now, while I am at the computer, Max (age 3)is sitting in the window. Yes, it is chilly, but he likes the window open when he sits there, so the window is open (screened of course). Kobe (7 months) is lying at my feet sleeping soundly, and Freedom (age 2) is sitting on the computer desk watching Max sit in the window. She is waiting her turn to sit in the window. GRRRRRRRRR...wish it wasn't cold. They love to sit in the open windows. Oops! She just jumped down to hiss a little at Max to let him know that his time in the window is up and it is her turn now. This could turn into a brawl, so I'd better check it out. Take care all and keep in touch.

Pam - such a cute story! It must have been a sight to see! Too bad you didn't get a picture of that!
I only have Smokey, and he love to knead my bare shoulder (ouch)at night when we are settling in and then he lays next to my head on my upper arm.
sometimes he will crawl up on my chest and stare at me, usually around 3am. You just have to love them, especially with those eyes.....

I came back from running this AM and spread out a towel so I could stretch. Well, Wolfie and Coco LOVE towels! So they both ran over and splayed themselves out before I could sit down and stretch. They're my little personal trainers!

Oh, how sweet. My boy, Pepe, sits on the corner of the couch and reaches out to touch me when I am on the computer - asking for a cuddle. Sometimes if I am in the middle of typing I'll look over to him and say okay, in a minute, and then he lies down, rolls around mewing at me saying I am so cute and how can you resist me? And of course I can't. So I lie down on the couch and he comes over climbs onto my chest and purrs. He likes to reach out and touch my face too while he is cuddling.

Pam,

That was a really cute story. I really enjoyed it. My Tommie jumps on the bed at night and gets off again. There are times that he jumps at my head. Most of the time, he is laying on top of the folded blankets at the foot end of the bed so that you can't cover up with them. He can be a stinker. But I love him a lot.

Awww, what a sweet story. I love it when my kitties feel the desire to sleep with me. In fact I judge my morning by how many cats I've had in bed with me. Sounds like you had a great day - a 3 cat nap...can't get much better than that!

Someone needed to get a picture of that! That's great!! My husband won't let our furkids sleep with us at night because he's a light sleeper and they like to play in the middle of the night, mainly with things that make noise and wake him up. I went to bed early last night because he was grumpy and Velcro laid down right beside me and snuggled up close. There's nothing like it!

Just a cute cat tale...Feel free to offer your cute cat tales too.

Yesterday afternoon I thought perhaps I would take a nap in the recliner. As soon as I was situated in the recliner and had our favorite blanket spread over me, Chloe (7 months old) decided she would jump up in the recliner with me and rest on my stomach. Very cute. A minute or two later, Cricket (almost 13 years old and 20 pounds) decided he wanted to nap too, ON MY LEGS!!!! Cute, but heavy. About 5 minutes later, while I was still awake, and Chloe and Cricket were resting peacefully, Kobe (also 7 months) decided he also wanted to sleep on me. Kobe is a big boy and probably close to 10 pounds. So for the next hour, I lay awake while almost 40 pounds of furkids slept peacefully on my chest, stomach, and legs. I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOO Loved...LOL.
