Welcome to the Fort Collins Spark group. I work on a computer most of the day and know exactly what you mean about coming home and doing it there too!

It sounds like you are doing all the right things so don't get discouraged. Remember that pounds aren't the only way to measure progress. How your clothes fit is a great gauge if you don't want to measure. You can always post here for a local work out buddy. In fact, I'll start a new thread just on that topic.

Hi,

I joined Spark people a while ago, but I must admit it hasn't been easy to keep up with all the correspondence going on SparkPeople.com Working with computers all day just take away all my will to sit at my computer when I get home! :-) I think I've introduced myself before but didn't get any response so here I am again! :-)

I'm trying to lose weight. I'm overweight-not obese. I exercise regularly, both my wife and I are trying really hard to eat the right way. It hasn't been easy. :-) SparkPeople is my morale boost. I get great ideas about eating habits, workouts and other needed tips/advice on how to stay fit. One of the drawbacks for me as far as exercise is concerned is motivation. I love weight lifting, but going to the gym alone, gets a bit old at times! :-) I'm really looking for a training partner, somebody we can meet at my local gym, push each other, make me go above my usual limit.

When I joined the gym, I was 236lbs. Now I am oscillating between 215lbs and 220lbs. I joined the gym like a really long time ago, progress has been slow. We've cut down on fatty foods, eat whole grains, no processed food, limited junk food, no/very little sugars, rode my bike to work 16 miles-one way and through all this my weight has not really improved/dropped as much as I would like to see, no real results to show for all my hard work. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. It is kind of disappointing. :-( Anyway, I'm still determined to lose up to 50lbs by May next year. I'm hoping my fellow Sparkers will always be here to support me. Thank you and I wish you all the best. :-)
