Hello, I am fairly new to sparkpeople and have been counting calories for about a month. I thought joining a group for support would be good. I have lost 10 lbs and have at least 20 to go. I have not been successful in the past so I am actually scared to say the real number I would like to lose because I might jinx it! I enjoy bike riding , usually do it by myself right now. Once I lose more weight I am hoping my knee won't hurt and I can do some walking again. I also realize that weights are going to have to be a part of my program but I haven't started them yet. I feel really good having my clothes be just the littlest bit looser. I feel sparkpeople was the reason I was able to get this done. No more lying to myself about how much something weighs, because now I weigh and measure, when I used to guess. I am having a good time with sparkpeople!
Hi all, I am new as of today and new to "calorie counting" eating too but it seems to have the best hype..
I intend to lose the maximum amount of weight by Nov 12, looks like it can only be 18 lbs according to the tracking food page. I will eventually lose more than 50 lbs but need to do it consciously and this site will be of utmost help.
I grow most of my own fruit and vegetables, am 67 and retired but manage 3 community gardens and am active in city and county events related to food security and gardening.
Thru AARP membership I have been given a 24Hour gym membership and will be working out and doing yoga at least 3 days a week.
