This is an electronic forum with no meetings, but a great place to meet like-minded people who want to start doing better for themselves. One thing that helped me kick start was Weight Watchers. The weekly meetings were great for helping me keep it going, but if there is a discipline problem, you may need to get a buddy who will "make" you get to the meetings. Some of us (aka me) need a policeman to help them stay on track. Glad you are here and look forward to hearing from you!
For the most part, I think it is done electronically. If you are over 50, check out the Hays Center in NLR. For a ridiculously low yearly fee, you get full access to a gym, a heated pool, a lap pool, classes from exercise to wt loss support to activities like cards, billiards, and much much more.
I lost 100 pounds and am now working on losing that "last little bit". Sparkpeople is a great tool. Welcome aboard!

I'm new to this group and can use all the help and support I can get. I have many health problems that are being aggravated by my obesity and I know it, I feel it. I quit smoking in 1998 and have slowly put this weight on since then.
I eat when I'm bored, not hungry. I am trying to keep track of my calories, but don't always remember to do it.
I live in West Little Rock, when I am home. We travel extensively by RV, we have been gone since the middle of April and won't be home until the end of October. Are there meetings or do we just communicate electronically?
