You're awsome for admitting that you need help! Remember where you used to be and how hard it was to get to where you are now! Sometimes the best way to encourage yourself is to find someone else that needs encouragement! As we help one another, we gain value and are appreciated for what we have to offer! Your friends and family have seen your success and are proud of you! Those who haven't gotten off the bench are jealous that you've made greater strides than they! Don't get stuck on the details of each day but focus on what you HAVE done! Even something as simple as acknowledging your failures sets you up for taking the next step closer to meeting your goal! Don't beat yourself up! There are a lot of loosers looking to pull you down into their muck and mire but you were made to succeed! Just take that step one at a time! Tomorrow you can look back and see how far you've come! Just learn that you can't be an enemy of yourself. If you do that, no one can lift you up to where you don't want to go! If you want to reach that goal, do it and don't let anything keep you from it! YOU ARE A WINNER!
The race to fitness is unending for when you reach your goals, it becomes a race to stay ahead of the temptations that seek to pull back to where you came from!
Hey Lisa - welcome to the group.
What part of town are you in? There's lots of folks looking for walking/workout buddies... and great videos here on Spark for quick workouts that don't require equipment.
We just had a get together on Saturday, but are in the works to plan another one in a few months - hope you can join us!
Take the words “genetic freak” out of your vocabulary and substitute the words “hard working, committed, and focused” and you will have removed one obstacle to doing things you never thought possible. Top Dawg

My name is Lisa. I'm 41 and obese. I really need some motivation. People to walk with or swim with. Also need some good cheap recipes. I was laid off in May this year.
