I can relate to the challenge of calories on weekends or at parties. This past Sunday night and Monday lunch I thought I was being pretty careful at social events....until I got home, and logged it all in - oops! I was really frustrated for a day or two, but read an article on sparkpeople about pressing on after a set back and am trying to use these situations as learning experience. Good luck on your journey. emoticon

Hi Michelle! Welcome to the Team.

I sure know what you talk about when you say you over-indulge and then feel awful. The other day I had waaaaaaaay too many treats and then felt soooo big. Today I'm trying to make much better choices!

Good luck with trying to find healthier alternatives for your evenings out! I'm sure you can find something equally delicious yet much less fattening (and hang-over producing!).

I actually was dancing that night! The problem was that I ate three full meals - then went to a reception where there was food and free beer :-( I ended up drinking 13 beers!!! I wont do that again. Its not worth the calories or the hang over :-)

Two roads diverged in a wood and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

emoticon emoticon to the team! It's great you have babysitters so you and DH can have a night out each week. However, that is a lot of calories in a day. When you are out like that are you doing any dancing? Dancing is great for burning calories.

Hello Michele and glad to have you with us. Yes it is amazing sometimes how much we eat and me being the same. My kids love to eat out and it's very hard to stay within range. My parents take them out to eat alot so they are so used to it. We hope you join in our challenge for this month and have lots of fun with the team and getting to know them. My husband is also the same way and can eat anything and not gain a drop. Good luck to you and always her if you ever need me.

My name is Michele and I have wonderful husband and two kids, 4 & 5. I have been trying to lose weight for EVER! Mostly the last 4 years since I had my son. Luckily, I carry it well. My husband is skinny and loses weight without trying - it makes me crazy. His input (which was dragged out of him) is I should eat 800 calories and run 10 miles a day - when I tell him it isnt healthy he thinks I am using an excuse :-) But he loves me and doesnt care what size I am - just gets tired of hearing about my weight loss efforts that all seem to fail. We like to hang out once a week without the kids (we are lucky and have lots of sitters) and we usually drink too much which turns into fried food at midnight and waking up with the urge to eat incessantly. I avoid logging on the weekends and complain that I am never losing any weight even though I eat 1500 calories a day 5 days a week. Well I logged last Friday night and WOAH almost 4000 calories!!! 3500 the next day. Now I know why I can't lose weight. Since I would hate to give up our nights out - I am going to start preparing for them. Anyway, I have babbled enough. Hello everyone!
