27lbs down...only have four more pounds to go before I am down 10% of my body weight and that would put me at the 1/3 mark in my over-all goal! Good Times! Highest weight ever was 310, SP starting weight 299 on 03/17/14.

I guess I haven't introduced myself to the group yet. I am new but excited to be apart of such a supportive environment. I really struggle with my weight- I just can't seem to get a handle on implementing healthy habits. Anyone have any.secrets??

I am sort of new. I started here in Jan. I have been trying to lose weight for years, but it was always with some crazy diet and I would gain it all back plus some. I have been watching the old seasons of Biggest Loser and it made me realize that I can do this. There is no trick, I am just going to have to eat right and get any exercise I can. I am not able to do many things for exercise, but I am trying to at least move more.

My New Year's resolution was not losing weight. It was to be more independent and not rely on others to do what I can do for myself. I was disabled about 5 years ago so I had gotten into a point that I thought I couldn't do anything. I know better. This lead to me realizing that I am getting bigger by the day. I decided to just eat healthier. I didn't care if I lost weight. I lost about 4 pounds the first couple of weeks without trying. I am down 10 pounds and now I am trying to lose weight! 100 pounds seems soooo far away! But I only have 90 more to go!

Hi, how are you doing today? Are you still struggling or are you having a good day? I just started Spark People yesterday in hopes that I can help motivate people on my good days and have others motivate me on my not so good days! I weigh 260.9 pounds as of today. Over the last 7 weeks I have dropped 9 lbs. I just joined Curves in hopes that the 30 minute workouts will help get my body moving again and help me stay motivated. I have a very difficult time eating regularly and sticking to a menu plan. I do well for a while, then something distracts me and it takes me too long to get back on track. I'm hoping to find a couple of people that I can message and will message me each day or a couple of days a week to help keep me on track. If you're interested, you can friend me. Either way - I hope you are having a wonderful day and - stay your course! emoticon

I peaked the scales at 296 lbs in December 2012, I started TOPS in January 2013 and my first weigh-in was 292. I lost a total of 25 lbs in 2013 and I am struggling this year. I am only down 3 lbs. I need the support of this team and sparkpeople to help me lose another 25 lbs this year. I enjoy reading everyone's team posts. I am more motivated after reading and sharing. Especially on nights like tonight when I do not feel good and eating would be so easy. I am going to finish my cup of tea and read a few more blogs and posts. Have a great week everyone.

I'm Jennifer. New to SP. It appears that I'm here for the same reasons most of you are...support and encouragement. I woke up one day last week and realized I was sick and tired of being fat. I had allowed myself to gain weight through and following my divorce 2 years agoby turning to food for comfort. I have met with a trainer, doctor and nutrionist over the past week and are ready to do this!! I am crazy busy with 2 teen age boys and full time, midnight shift job, running a household, and have 3 dogs. I'm not sure how much time I will have on here, but I've really enjoyed what I've read and will try to stay plugged in!

I'm so ready to find the me that I know is in here somewhere!! :)

Hello- I am new to the team, but not new to sparkpeople. I have been away, though, and came back and restarted my goals, tracking etc. that lead me to this team as a suggestion. I am 46, and I have decided that I am going to lose my 150 lbs in the next four years, slowly and forever.

Hi everyone,

I am returning for what I am hoping is my last time on the weight lose struggle. I want to get to a good weight and be here to maintain not lose anymore. Everytime I have lost weight ove the past couple of years I have used Sparkpeople and it has helped. It is only when I get frustrated with life and give up that I go back to my old ways. Praying this time is different because this time I want to lose weight for me and not someone else.

thanks

.hi everyone,
I just celebrated my 45th birthday and didn't like the picture of the woman staring back at me. I have tried many times to lose this weight. I need to do it for me. I felt successful week 1 went on vacation and lost my motivation. It has taken a month to get it back. Nothing like seeing yourself in a picture to get back on track. So here is to starting over with drive and ambition.

I am too new to this site. I'm hoping that this works, I have tried so many other things but I figure that if I have other people to talk to that are trying to do the same thing that it may be easier for me to do this. I do appreciate any input at all that can help. I am married to a loving and helpful man. We have been married for 14years but we have been together for 24 years. We have been through a lot but have come out on top of it all. I have 3 grown children, 2 by my first marriage and 1 with my now husband. I have 6 beautiful grand children. I am open to new friendships. So I hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks for listening......

Hello everyone,
I am just getting back online. I am really excited this time around. It has been hard but I think my mind is in the right place. I have my husband on board with me and we are going to do this journey together. We have been married for 15 years and have 2 wonderful daughters who keep us busy. They also want to help us so it is going to be a family life style change. I am excited and cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.

Hi everyone. I joined tonight....I'm getting started in the morning. I am very excited about making this life change. I weighed in tonight at 290 which, like many others here, is my highest weight ever. My scale only goes to 300 so I guess it's definitely time. Finding the time to blog and track and read and watch will be a challenge along with the workouts but without my butt parked in the corner of my sofa and without all the extra trips to the fridge I'm sure to have a few extra moments to make it work. Best of luck to everyone.....stay focused. Linette

Hi everyone! First of all, I am only 39, but will be 40 this year, so I thought I'd jump right in here, instead of joining the 30-somethings team for just a short while. I hope that's okay!

I am a happily married mother of three girls aged 8 to 18, and the day after Christmas when I went into the doctor for bronchitis, I weighed in at 290 pounds- my highest weight ever. I can't live like this anymore. I am a Christian woman who wants to be a healthy vessel for God, an attractive spouse for her husband, and a healthy and fit mom to her girls. I feel great right now, although it's early yet. Some great news is that I just started on Monday, and I already lost five pounds! The bad news is... that goes to show how bad my eating habits were to begin with!

I feel that my biggest challenge that lies ahead is staying motivated. It seems like I decide to do this every new year, and always revert back to my old habits. I cannot do that again! I am dangerously obese as it is, and I can't allow myself to go any higher. I am not looking for a "magic number" on the scale. I just want to be healthier, so my current goal weight it 175. When I reach that, I'll see what my next step will be.

Glad to "meet" everyone! I hope I get a lot from this team, as I've seen that some I joined recently and in the past are not very active.

-Alicia

Hello to all the new people.
It's great to see you all. I have been a member almost 6 months now. One thing I learned is that you have to do this your way. There are going to be ups and downs the thing to remember is don't stop trying. If you give up thats ok don't waste your energy beating yourself up about it. Take a look at why you stopped and try to avoid it next time. Keep trying over and over and over again becuase this isnt a diet. Its a complete lifestyle change and your own mind and body may betray you along the way. Face it, its much easier to go grab fast food then to come home after a long day and cook. Find what helps you maybe cooking and freezing meals ahead of time so you dont have to cook after work or you dont have to cook 2 meals one for your and one for your family. Second reach out find others that are working at this too. Third find someone or some where you have to be accountable. Knowing that you have to report what your doing to someone is a HUGE deterrent from cheating. I started seeing a nutritionist and report in to her with my written down meals twice a month it really helps. Even if I can't bring myself to write down everything I eat I know there will be a weigh in and that keeps me going with the exercise. It may seem silly but I don't want to disappoint by going back up even a single pound.

I'm back after a 2 or 3 year hiatus, during which time I gained back all 65 lbs that I had lost on Dr Simeons HCG protocol.

I'm trying it again now, and hoping to be able to re-set my metabolism so I can keep it off this time. I've taken off 12 lbs so far.

It ain't over till I say so!

Hey Ya'll. Im new here and trying this again. Im 42 years old, married mom of 4 kids, and way too much weight on me. I have 120 pounds to lose. I shake my head as I type how much I have to lose cuz I can't believe that I have gained that much weight. But I kno that I am going to lose this weight. It's going to take one day at a time but I will do it. I want to be healthy again. I want to be able to run and play with my youngest two ( ages 4 and 3) like I did my Oldest two ( ages 20 and 15 ). I want to look on the outside like how I feel on the inside. Would love to make some new SP friends on here so we can help each other out. My Battle has begun and Im going to win it. I have no doubt. And I kno everyone of yall will Succeed also.

Hi there! I'm Sharon and I'm new too! I'm new to the website as well and I'm inspired by what I see. I've got about 120 pounds to lose give or take a pound or two. But I'm happy with anything. I can't even imagine what that kind of weight loss would feel like but I'm giving it a whirl! Good Luck! emoticon

Hi All! I am new to this group - just turned 40 this year and I'm heavier than I have ever been, ugh. I set a twelve week goal to coincide with a challenge at work but I ultimately have to lose about 150 pounds... I'm happy to be hear and I really like the layout so far! Good luck!

Hi, My name is Diane. I am going to be 49 years old soon and over 300 lbs, have always been overweight. Everytime I try to lose weight, I end up giving up....then end up putting it on PLUS MORE. I am fearful of trying again because I don't want to repeat this pattern and gain more weight.
But I have to do something to start feeling better about myself. I am tired of hurting, tired of having no energy. I MUST CHANGE NOW. I can't believe my good luck in finding this website. Thank you Spark People, you are just what I have been looking for.

Hello Bridge299.... I joined two days ago, and I have to say, everything you wrote sounded exactly like me. We can do this, and I have to stay looking at one day at a time. For two days now, I am starting to think a lot more positive, and for me that is most of the battle. I hope this goes fantastic for you, and I hope we see each other on the boards a lot!!!
Best wishes!!

Hi Everyone,
I'm new now.....Historically, I get eager to start up with better health plans and fade out; but, this time, I will try to stick with it! I know "what" to do, it's a matter of just doing it for me.

I'm in my early 40s and have about 130 pounds to lose. I never ever thought I'd be writing something like that!

I've been trying to have a baby and have basically one final thing I am trying. It scares me, though, to think about being this heavy and this "old", and then pregnant and all. I do know some women, though, who were a little heavier than I (and the same age as I) and successfully had babies (though with C-sections, which scares me).....

Anyway, thanks for "listening"!
Take care,
Mallie emoticon
