"The 5 people you meet is heaven" is a great book and movie. It about a mad whose plans are changed by live circumstances and he grows old thinking his life is insignificant. His one true love ishis wife, who dies before he does. When he dies, he meets 5 people in heaven that he encountered in life. I don't want to tell you more unless you just cannot get the tape, recording, or movie. Because, I'd had to ruin it for you. It really is a touching story.

Funny you should say that GraniJani. My daughter was hoping we would have a bit of Spanish blood since many of the sailors on the Armada were washed up on the Irish coast but so far we have no proof - just her dark colouring and looks. We're mostly English, Irish and Scots too. Our best name so far is Priscilla.

Thank you for the BD wish. My great great grandmothers name was Delilah Jacquline and was called Dicey. she was born in Mississippi. The legend has it that we are native american on her side,but haven't found proof of that yet. I do beleve most of people are English, Irish & Scot.

Well, folks, I joined the team, but I don't have enough computer time to answer all the questions now. You can look at my SparkPage for the basics. I live in Israel, which makes time differences interesting in posting. Right now it's morning here and I have to get moving. Lots to do before I head for the gym at 10:15.
The reason I joined is that I've been struggling (and I do mean that) with keeping my home clean and organized for many, many years. Finally the ground floor is in some kind of order (except my studio, which is a disaster), but the upstairs is stash-and-dash. I'm hoping for daily accountability here -- progress not perfection. I want to be able to come here and boast that I actually did wipe down the kitchen counters today and not feel silly.
I hope to get to know all of you over the coming weeks.

Well Rhoda, you certainly have a place among us! You must have seen we have a DEcluttering thread which we use to post the things that leave our homes. You can start there. It is nice to simply go and add even if it is one thing, but you know that thing is not in your home any more!We have the challenges too.
But as you noticed, the best about our team is the people. I am really really proud of my friends here. They are funny, loving and caring women who show themselves just as they are. And, I believe we all feel safe in this team, safe and at home.

Here is my real intro and the true reason I joined this team. I will try to stick to the short version, but may still be long.
Background: Retired from Army in 2005 and put my stuff in storage for the last 4 years. Just recently moved here from VA where I also had a full house.
Challenge: Our goal is to bring my mother and handicapped sister here to live with me for the next couple of years until my older sister retires. Then she too will move here and I will move into another house across the street. (longer story)
Anyway, what I need to do right now is go thru all the stuff that I brought with me and all the stuff that has been stored (since dd was 7 yo) and purge, purge, purge.
Problem: As you can imagine, the task is very overwhelming. I have gotten some done by using some flylady techniques, but welcome the comraderie, encouragement and most of all systemic processes of this team.
Hopefully, I've given enough info to explain my situation. So look out I will be jumping right in to the challenges.

Yes, we are introverts, and we enjoy the simple things in life. There's more to us, but I won't give away as I'm going to write a blog about our identity as a team. Creating mystery is what good writers do to catch the audience attention! RFLOL!
That is interesting we are mostly introverts. I guess we like our remote relationships and this is a good medium of expression. Ovaltine is supposed to be a health drink (to be mixed with milk just like Nestle's Quick), can be chocolate flavoured ( the yellow jar) or ovaltine classic ( the orange jar) It is a barley and malt extract base and contains whole dried eggs ( thus the ova in the name) In Italy it is called Ovalmaltine, eggs and malt. Even the classic has cocoa powder, but the yellow jar version has more. I am a fan of Ovaltine classic.

I get what you mean. In Uruguay, our Ovamaltine is called Vascolet- probably not the same thing, but yes the same kind of drink.
Ovaltine is a drink made by mixing a chocolate powder in milk. You might remember it from your childhood, but it's been revived lately and you can see the commercials on tv: "More Ovatine, Please." I got into in in Germany, where they have Ovalmatine. (TMI, I'm sure).

Hey,
I am new and am from Alabama. I just turn 50 in July. I have a husband, a teenage daughter, 3 dogs, and cows. I am sort of organized. I realized besides the extra baggage around my waist, I have more baggage in the form of clutter. I like the clutter codes. My favorite color is green. I like gardening but hate to weed. My ideal weight is to fit into medium size (7 would be great) underwear. I am looking forward to losing all the extra baggage.
