emoticon to the team!!! So glad that you decided to join this fun and active team. Let me know if you have any questions. I suffer from low back pain, so there are some things that I can't do because of the pain, but I've just tried and tried other activites to find out what works best for me. I do cardio workouts daily. Also, when I was in physical therpay for my back, they gave me exercises - this was years ago. Now I try to do them so that my back won't keep me from exercising. I also use my stationary bike, a hula hoop, dancing, walking, hiking, swimming, etc. You just have to try things to find out what works best for you.

Welcome. When I started walking, I chose a trail that was a bit from my house. I didn't want to be the subject of neighborhood discussion, especially if I wasn't able to continue.

The first weeks were difficult. I took my dog who literally dragged me up the small hills and along the trail. I would come home exhausted after fifteen minutes.

I persisted and there was another woman I would meet on the trail several times a week. Over the summer, I watcher her shrink. She was losing that belly and doing it well. I didn't realize that I was doing the same thing because I didn't see me walk.

Keep going. It really works. It does get easier as well.

ECU employee - 24 years, A grandma of 4, mother of 3 married. My challenge is to lose 35 to 40 pounds by my birthday which is 11/14/55 . I love to walk and work out but I have had some back problems which have slowed me down but I want give up.
