Welcome. I like wearing the pedometer a few days to see what my "baseline" steps are so I can make a plan to improve the step count without making things hard.
You can do this easily with your step count for today. That is just a few more steps, perhaps a walk after dinner to reach your goal.

Hi team!! I am new stepper and am committed to 10,000 steps a day and was very excited to see that there was a team for support on Sparkpeople. I have been a Sparker off and on for many years; it's time to get it right!!! I will very quickly be a 59-year-old, grandmother of 8!!~ I used to be called Half-pint.... not so much any more. I have this past year gone from a size 16 down to a 10 and then let a few pounds creep back on while we were out of town for 2 months. I am determined to get those few off plus a few more. I am already at 8626 for the day today so I feel confident the 10,000 will happen today... one day at a time!!
