Hi, Barbara, nice to meet you! I had a similar experience when I went into menopause - same generally healthy eating, same exercise level but tons of outside stress and whammo, my body just kind-of swelled up. I wasn't paying 100% detailed attention to each bite or step at the time so it's possible there was some variance - but I still gained a lot more than I could account for with 'just' that. So you may not be imagining the 'menopause effect!'
At any rate, welcome back and I wish you the best with the rest of your journey. I think we have all lost our spark at one point or another - esp when under stress and getting tired!! But it is possible to revive it and you've been soooooo successful in the past, I'm sure you'll get back to that healthy maintenance level soon.
