Welcome. Walking is Fantastic! It is a great way to feel better and it isn't hard on the joints. It does wear out shoes, though. Start with your base steps and add gradually. It will surprise you how quickly you reach your 5 mile goal.

Welcome! I'm a teacher and usually get 6,000 to 10,000 mainly at school. I have trouble finding the time to walk on the weekends - lesson plans, grading papers, etc. I'm starting spring break and look forward to having some time to get in my walks. I know they make me feel better and help with the weight loss. Happy stepping!

Hope this gets me motatived, I'm 62, 5'5, 193lbs and I lift weights 3 times a week. Now I'm going to start walking everyday until I'm walking 5 miles a day. Hope that's all I need.
