RWBROWNASSOC: Muscle weighs more than fat. It actually is a stabilizing factor that the body uses to not lose weight too fast also. Count that as 2 blessings.

You are doing the work and it will pay off more than in the scale department. Measurements and other health factors are far more honest indicators of success.

Keep on going.

Exercise is part of the equation. You've started a great program. Spark also is a great site for nutritional information. It's a wealth of knowledge in one site.

I'm back in the saddle again. I just started walking again last week... trying to get in 10,000 steps a day. I walked five miles yesterday and had about 13,000 steps total but I got on the scale this morning (have been walking at least three miles a day all last week and trying to eat healthy) and I've gained weight :(. Will keep on trying.

WalkingGrandma: I just assessed my last 3 weeks steps. I have an Omron pedometer which downloads onto the computer. Works great for a tech-toy freak like myself. LOL

I'm getting an indication of what I normally do in my work day and will build onto that. I'm off to grocery shop right now. That will add some steps onto the pedo, won't it?

Hi everyone. I am looking forward to giving and receiving support on my long road back to health & fitness. Stepping is such an easy way to do it. I may not be very active during the next few months because of the busy time of the year, but I took the first step and set up my page and will be working on my food tracker in the next few days.
