Thank you all for the warm welcome !
The first two days with the pedometer I did about 5000 steps a day. The next two I did about 9,500 steps each day. This included Curves and Curves Zumba and a 3 mile walk each day. Right now my knees are letting me know that I am over doing it! I am going to take it easier tomorrow. Too much too quickly isn't working for me. I should have read your advice about increasing more slowly before I doubled my steps. Ouch! emoticon

Welcome to our team!
My pedometer is my best friend! Like LMMIMI I also place my pedometer the first thing in the morning and it is the last thing I take off in the evening. Watching those steps add up is very motivational and keeps me honest. Good luck and keep on moving!

emoticon to the team and you will be amazed at how motivating that little pedometer can be. It will keep you accountable and encourage you to add just a few more steps each day. Have fun and work at it daily.

Hi and welcome!! I started wearing a pedometer and it makes me strive for the 10000 steps because before I had no idea how many steps I took in a day. It really makes me push myself!!

WELCOME!!!

BECAUSE I wear a pedometer, I AM pushed to get my 10,000 steps. BEFORE I never even though about it. But is is NOT easy to do, it is a challenge but a GOOD ONE for sure!

Welcome. Increasing steps 200-300 per week is a good goal. You don't want to burn out while trying to get fit. I find that wearing a pedometer and walking is a great way to get activity and not burn out. Adding a little in the evening or morning is a great way to increase your steps.

I put my pedometer on the first thing in the morning and take it off when I go to bed. Because I am not as active as some, I try to count every step I take. Good luck and just keep walking. emoticonemoticon

Hi, I just purchased a pedometer and started wearing it 2 days ago. I seem to get to around 5,000 steps either with using the treadmill also or having a busy day like yesterday with freezer and dryer repair and walking much more than usually.

I would like to increase my steps and I think this might be a good way to get encouragement !

Looking forward to meeting you all! emoticon
