My name is Memory and I have been a member of SP for a while but I have let life get in the way. I refuse to let that happen again. I have tried so many diets and fitness regimes that helps temporarily. So now I am finding out what works for me. I like my exercise to be varied so figure counting steps keeps me active and I won't get bored. I will be looking for new ways to add steps. As in the diet, I will be watching good old calories in vs calories out.

My first steps goal is 5000 steps per day until my knees stop hurting and then I will increase it by 500 steps. I have a tendency to go all out when I start back exercising and regretting that later. So slow and steady for me this time.

I found SparkPeople on the internet (I can't remember where) in August. At work we started the 10,000 steps program on 9-21, it is sponsored by our insurance company. I am now getting twice the exercise I was getting before then. It has been hard to keep it up every day (we had to walk outside at 25 degrees to exercise when we were out of town for the weekend) but I think it has been really good for me. I'm tougher than I thought!

I am a colon cancer survivor for the past 10 1/2 + years. I have gained significant weight due to complications. However, I am a fighter and I love to walk. Walking, eliptical machine and an occassional Zumba session is about the only major exercise I get. At least 5x per week I can push up to 10,000 and beyond. I would like to do more.

I am not a very athletic person, or even a physical fit person. But I am making small challenges alittle at a time. I do find walking a positive experience. I definately walk more when I wear my pedometer. I use a FitBit Ultra, pricey yes, but it works for me. I love that it syncs with my computer and I can see how much I've done over time. I have just joined the 10,000 steps challenge. Although I'm not at that level yet, there are times when I'm surprised at how much I actually have moved.

Hi all. My name is Denise, and i get usually to about 5,000 steps a day so I am halfway there but I also do pilates and my stationary bike.
I love walking, and I want to do the maximum of everything to keep the fitness level going up.
I have Multiple Sclerosis which is a neurological disease so sometimes exercise can be hard because we get tired out during the day a lot even without doing any exercise so we must find our balance.

Hi, I just bought a pedometer today. I lost all of my weight a while back but have noticed my pants a little tight, I've not been exercising at all, so I've got a pedometer and am going to walk each day, my goal is 10,000 steps per day.

Hi all! I am a Fitbit wearer and have been counting steps since about this time last year. I love to walk but recently just can't seem to get my steps in. I think that this team may get me back to getting my steps in and possibly get me back to 10.000 +
