Bill, I love Bluegrass music. I was raised on it. I had two cousins who went all over the state of Alabama playing in competitions when they were young. One played the banjo and one the mandolin. We were always the guinea pigs for their music, so they played for the family all of the time. Welcome to Spark and good luck.

Howdy, My name is Bill Johnston and I came here in 1988 (navy transplant) left in 91 and back in 95 and decided to stay here. I retired in 98 and now i work with the county. I'm married and have 3 kids 2 are in Fort Wayne And we have a new grandbaby there, our daughter that's still here (kinda) graduated from Escambia high in 08 and was valedictorian.
I need to lose about 50 to 75 lbs. after getting put of the navy the weight just came on slow. Plus I quit smoking and that helped I'm sure.
Now in my spare time I'm in a bluegrass band called High Cotton. In April of 09 the band went to Perry Fla and entered the Florida state arts Bluegrass competition, we won vocal band and instrumental band for the whole state. I play mandolin and guitar and bass but I play the mandolin mostly. So if your ever over in Milton on the 4th Saturday of the month about 5:00pm, drop in over at PCJ and check out the bluegrass stuff that's going on.
I'm hoping the weight comes off slow so it will stay off, If i lose 10 or 20 lbs I'll be ok with that because I know more will come.
