I have packed back on some pounds due to a nasty breakup and stress eating. But, I just kicked all those excuses to the curb. I am back in the gym on a regular basis and packing lunches. And, while visiting friends last weekend in Gainesville went on a six mile hike instead of goofing off. ;)
No excuses!

My hubby was craving ice cream, so I bought him some. It was Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch. It is our favorite and so yummy! I did have one bite, but that was it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to resist eating as much as i might have wanted ... It's definitely about choices. emoticon

Test 3 is done, done, done, and I passed! I just ate fresh fruit and the salad, and brought my lasagna home for dh and ds.

This was good practice for going to my mom's this WE and the vacation. I often wonder if my behavior regarding food has really changed. After this week, I think it has. I see every meal as a choice now...I look at my options and make the choice that is best for me. What do I want to outcome for me to be? Am I OK with gaining a little, or do I want to continue to lose?

This was a good idea Carol! Recognize the threat & then prepare to deal with it. But I know & believe in you. The temptations will be there but you are uber-strong and I know you will be sensible about it. Tasting is OK though--no need to deprive yourself completely. It is great that you will have a fitness center at your hotel. Maybe you can talk your Mom into a walk in exchange for a taste of her cooking. emoticon

Things are about to get very busy for me...going on vacation in 10 days. I have 3 events this week that involve wonderful food, then I'll be at my mom's on the weekend. She LOVES to feed me, and I'm sure when she sees me she'll be rushing to make dumplins or fried chicken (or both) to fatten me up. I'm writing it down right here and now that this is not an excuse to pig out or skip exercise. I will get through this week unscathed.

I'm going on vacation this weekend. I've already packed up some healthy snacks and will bring sandwiches so that we don't eat out but one time a day. (Easier to not pig out and cheaper!) Now all I have to do is use the hotel gym and not drink too much beer. (Why is it so tastey?)

So I had to put action to what I posted below. I realized I would miss my workout tomorrow because we are driving up to B'ham and driving back on the same day. I usually don't work out on Fridays, but I had to, since I'll have to skip tomorrow. I'm glad it's done! NO EXCUSES!

MrsHeather, I am staying with my husband's family in a house they are renting. We are flying down there. I think my mother-in-law said there was a Winn-Dixie not too far away. I went to Sonny's last night for dh's BD...didn't let it screw up my progress...took my salad spritzer with me....plus...this is really weird...took a 100 cal multi-grain English muffin in a baggy and replaced the jumbo sized bun with it for my grilled chicken sandwich! Had a sweet potato for my side item...unsweetened tea...all yummy! AND...I lost a pound today! NO EXCUSES!

Finding it hard to track your calories or work out? Drop those tired old excuses here and move on. Consistency is the key. I'm facing a busier than usual week, but I'm not going to let that stop me. I'll get up earlier, skip watching TV, do whatever it takes to stick with my plan.
