My name is Laura. I'm a 36 year old mother of 4. I joined sparkspeople.com originally back in 2007. I have had numerous sucesses and dissapointments with my weight loss since then and I am now back and hoping to see some PERMANENT success!
I have fought with my weight since the birth of my 4th child in October of 2000. I suffered post-partum depression for the first time after her birth and food became my comfort. Also since her birth I have struggled with various health conditions. I was diagnosed with Interstial Cystisis in 2005, battled a bad case of Salmonella poisoning Summer 2007, battled Bronchial Pneumonia in Winter 2007 and 2008, and most recently diagnosed Fibromyalgia December 2010. I also have had Ashtma since I was 18.
I am hoping to lose weight for numerous reasons: (1) My health (2) My own self image (3) My little sister's wedding in June 2012 where I will be the Maid of Honor.
I have set what I feel is a realistic goal. Upon re-starting my calorie tracking last Sunday I was 219 pounds. My goal is to lose roughly 50 pounds by June of 2012 so that I will be around 170 pounds for my sister's wedding. I'd like to lose the remaining 30 pounds by my Birthday in December 2012, to reach my ultimate goal of 140 pounds.
Having Fibromyalgia, excersising is no easy task. I have decided to try to get out at least once a week to go swimming and to aim to take a 20 minute walk every evening.
