welcome to the team!
Live, Love, Laugh
Hi Dan. Welcome to the team. It is much easier to be eco-friendly when you lie in an area that supports your efforts. Good luck on your journey.
Just a dork trying to get healthier. I can also be found at

Hi everyone! I'm Dan, and I live in Western Washington State. It's a pretty good place to live if you are trying to be green. I think there's a decent culture here of people who respect the environment and try to do their best to keep it in good shape. At least you don't get weird looks when you re-use grocery bags or separate your recycling from your garbage.
The eventual goal (aside from losing weight and getting healthy, obviously) is to own a decent sized piece of land where I can be as self-sustaining as possible. I'm a pretty good gardener, and I've got experience with small livestock, so I should be able to do well as far as producing my own food. There are some pretty interesting options for generating my own power as well, so I'd like to look into those as well.
As for now, I just do the best I can to make the smallest footprint possible. My one indulgence that I can't seem to convince myself to get rid of is my old, 1983 Chevy pickup. It's a gas hog, but I love working on that beat-up old truck. I only drive it when I can't take the motorcycle out, though, so it's not too bad. Plus, the bike gets 50 MPG, and it's about as eco-friendly as a gasoline engine can get, so I make up for the truck a little bit there.
Looking forward to meeting you all.
