Hi, I'm new to the team and the water exercise title caught my eye. I have been going to my local community center for about 2 years now. I can't say I've lost weight, but I haven't made a serious effort the last 2 years. Starting fresh this week with the weight loss effort. What I have concentrated on is how good the pool makes me feel. I have joint and bone pain from meds I'm taking and this really keeps me mobile. I have spinal stenosis so walking is difficult. Have you tried using a floater belt and going into the deep end? Gets your legs moving harder, I think. Do a cross country skiing type motion around the pool. They shut the pool for a cleaning for 3 weeks, and boy did I feel a difference!

Track every bite, measure and weigh, only guess when there is no other option! Find good information on how many calories you burn in your exercise! My gym's website says that for a 1 hour water aerobics class, you can burn up to 400 calories. What I see in the class is people burning anywhere from 5 for 400 based on effort and enthusiasm. I'd really like to find out how many I really burn, too.
Does anyone know if the arm monitors are waterproof??
Hang in there!!! Your body may be just adjusting to all the changes in your lifestyle and may just surprise you with resuming weight loss any day now. Whatever you do, DON'T GIVE UP!! We're here to support one another as much as we can!
You may need to change up what you are doing in the pool and how long you are working out. Also you may be building some muscle. It may seen daunting at time but remember the turtle stayed at it and won the race.

Hi I just signed up and I could use a little help. My doctor will only let me do water exercise and I have been but I dent seem to be losing. I was at first but then I started gaining back am very disappointed I am hoping there are others that can only do water exercises and my have a few tips. I am in a water aerobics class and I walk the pool about 2 miles at a time is there anything else I can do? Any help greatly appreciated.
