I'm in FL too.
That's an impressive goal you've set for yourself! You can do it, but it's going to be pretty challenging. Most nutrition and diet professionals will suggest a loss of a couple pounds a week. But that's not to say it can't be done! I hope you don't set a goal so high you're bound to miss it though. Discouragement is a big stumbling block. Be realistic with yourself!

However it works out, you've found the right place for encouragement. We're all right here in it with you! Make sure you work with all the great resources here on SP. The Nutrition Tracker is a great one. I think everyone will attest to that!

Welcome. Your weight loss goals are ambitious, but you can do it. Remember that your losses will be greater at the beginning and as you get closer to your goal, you will lose less each week.

Adding activity to your life will help. You can enhance your losses by "burning" more calories through exercise.

There is a balance that you have to reach between losing weight and entering "starvation mode" where your body will conserve calories and your weight loss will stall.

Generally 1-2 pounds a week loss while your BMI is greater than 30 is reasonable. A loss of 1/2 - 1 pound for a BMI less than that is reasonable. Keep that in mind.

Welcome to the team. Hope you can manage your 60 lbs in 6 months goal. For me, that would be impossible as I lose very slowly. I only average about 2-3 lbs a month.

Hello everyone,
I'm Veronica Jones living in Orlando, Fl. I am 58years old, I have 193lbs on a 5'4" frame and I am going to lose 60lbs in six months. That's my goal and I think joining this team will help. I realize now that I cannot do this alone. So glad this team is available. Thanks!
