I know exactly what you mean...TRAILGIRL4! My brother and sister are younger than me but we've all put the weight on in our later years. My husband loves to cook and is always trying to make me eat what he cooks and he enjoys taking me to restaurants too! The problem is that he gets really upset (I think it hurts his feelings) if I don't eat everything he gives me and then I feel bad:(
All of my kids have moved out so it's just me and my husband. He's enjoying cooking and spending time with me but I have to some how get him to try cooking differently. That would really help both of us (he's probably 50lbs overweight).

This is my first post so I hope I'm doing it right. Alyons241 - We are very similar. I just turned 52 and also am disappointed in my increasing weight. I am at 159 and want to loose around 25 - 30 lbs. My start date is Jan 14.
My sister is 5 years older than me and my brother is 10 years older. As the years have gone by I've seen my brother's weight increase, and then my sister's weight increase. In the past I've looked at them and considered what I might weigh in 5 or 10 years. I have always said I will NOT gain weight like they have. However, I AM gaining weight and feel I am on the same path that they took but I do not want to follow in their footsteps.
One of my biggest problems is that my husband likes to eat out several times a week. We often go to Mexican restaurants. I have been debating how to handle this and I think I will start by just eating 1/2 the food I'm given and bring the rest home for another meal.

I just turned 50 and am quite disappointed in how much weight I've put on in the past few years. I'm looking to loose at least 30 lbs and am so glad I found this forum. My start date is January 14 and would like to lose 20lbs by June 14.
