Thanks so much for the warm welcomes and encouraging words. Yesterday was a good start to a new me. I followed ur advise and started excerising more and I have a positive mind frame to go the distance this time. This site is heaven sent. God bless u all....

I send you a hearty welcome too, and I totally agree with the other comments ... it's all about exercise and watching those calories. It will come off eventually ... it may take longer, but if you don't tackle it now, you'll only have more to lose later. (Ask me how I know?? ) Glad you are here!
I truly didn't think I could lose weight either but for me exercise is the key. I'm walking an hour a day 5-6 days a week, and I'm finally starting to see some progress. It is coming off slow, but it IS starting to come off.

Hi and to the team. I joined SP when I was 63 and I, too, thought that it was impossible for me to lose weight. I started logging 2 weeks of food on the nutrition tracker and I was planning to use it to prove to my doctor that it was impossible for me to lose weight. What the tracker did was open my eyes to what I was actually eating and why it seemed impossible to lose. I was eating way to much, having portions way too big. Once I started weighing and measuring my food using the nutrition tracker to keep track of my calories and adding a little exercise I found that it was NOT impossible to lose weight after all.
It gets harder after 50, but it can be done. Unfortunately the cakes and biscuits have to go. Well most of the time. Exercise is essential (even when it is raining) And portion control is a must. Eye view of a portion and kitchen scale view are nothing like the same. I will have had 8 years practice at being 50 on Sunday and believe me when I follow the rules above weight comes off.
