I am so happy to report that I am no longer obese. I lost 2.5 lbs so am now only overweight which of course I already knew that. So I am very pleased with the way this new way of eating and tracking and "|owning" my weight problem is working for me. I can;t believe how good I am starting to feel as well. I am sleeping better and also feel more energized. So glad I found this site. Good day to all.

it is never to late to start.

my sister lost 105 pounds at age 63 walking 15000 steps a day.

i have lost 44 pounds by giving up grain and sugar products at age 60..

i walk 15000 steps a day.

i use a salad plate as my dinner plate.

i keep mandrtan oranges in the fridge. when the sweet tooth comes on i grab one or two tablespoons of the fruit.

Welcome Just a couple of pounds then. I had a shock like that a couple of weeks ago.. It certainly was a wake up call to me. I am "just" overweight now and working on it. We can do it

A different take on the word 'obese'.
At 219 pounds I was told by two specialists that I was morbidly obese.
That was my wake up call and decided to do something about it.
Now weighing in at 157 those same doctors are amazed at how well my labs are now.
In fact, I am off several medications simply due to the weight loss and exercise.

So 'that' word was the beginning of my lifestyle change.

No, I still don't like the connotation of the word.

I know what you mean! I hate that word obese too! And even more than that I hate "morbidly obese" (that's what I was when I started).

I checked my BMI and according to the chart I am classified as obese. 1 point away from being overweight which sounds a little kinder to me; I am hoping that by next weekend I will only be overweight and not obese. Wish me luck.
