I know how you feel. I have been laid up with gout in both feet (toes and ankles) and unable to do anything so I have gained a few pounds myself. I am now on meds to try to prevent future attacks am able to at least be on my feet for a few minutes so I am looking forward to shedding those regained pounds and a few more with it.

Thanks for all the messages of encouragement. I am feeling better and was able to stay within my calories today and even do some house cleaning. Feels like I am getting things in order. Unfortunately I gained two pounds while sick but I hope that with my new habits that I can shed those.

We are not dieting. We are changing our attitude to food. Sorting out the things we like and still having them just in smaller portions and not as often. Hopefully this way we can succeed and not have to splurge every wee while because we are craving something forbidden. Good luck Nan
Hi Kathy and welcome to the 50+ SparkTeam! Trying to eat better is great. It took me a while to figure out what the best fuel (food) for my body was. As someone who has had asthma their whole life, I sympathize with you having a respiratory infection -being able to breathe freely is a wondrous thing. I hope you feel better soon.

I have had a very difficult year healthwise and this year is all about getting healthy. I am recovering from a respiratory infection now and am resting and trying to eat better. Once I am feeling better I plan to start dieting and exercising in earnest. Kathy
