Hi. I'm a 53 year old Type 1 diabetic, and a lifetime member of WeightWatchers, who tried going back after regaining most of the weight I lost, but failed miserably. I decided to try something different, and this is my first day on SparkPeople, as well as my first post. I have undergone a lot of changes in the last 18 months - becoming an empty nester, moving to be closer to my husband's office, seeing my eldest child married, new church, new friends... 30 to 40 new (old) pounds. I lost 33 pounds on WW a few years ago, but just as I reached goal, they changed the program, and then the rest of my life changes started in. It didn't help that we moved to a place where there are literally dozens of amazing restaurants within a few miles, and I started working longer hours, limiting my ability to get to the gym in time for my favorite (Zumba) classes. So now I have applied myself to correcting the less than positive changes (mostly my weight), in order to better enjoy all the positive ones (our new home, my daughter's marriage, the chance to spend more time with my wonderful husband of 30 years again). It's a pleasure to meet you all.
