Good for you Dakota, I'm sorry to say I totally blew it since Thanksgiving. I gained back the five I lost. Ugh. My strength to say no is gone. Somehow I have to find it again. Keep up the good work, you are a inspiration.

I've seen you post the 15,000 steps thing several times, Mybulldogs. How do you get 15,000 steps in a day? Do you walk 5 miles and then add on the rest through the day? I'm just curious. I'm eating around 1,500 calories a day and walking an hour 5-6 days a week - doc's suggestion. I usually walk between 4-5 miles a day.

Linedancer, keep it up, don't quit. We CAN take if off, just takes time. I saw someone say they don't care how long it takes, they are in it for the long haul. I'd like to get 20 pounds off by the first week of February, half way, but I'm also in this for the long haul.

Hi Dakota,
My Dr also told me I have to lose weight. My Thyroid is o.k. so far. It's just my HBP and Cholesterol. I also started getting palpatations with the HBP so I am on medication for all that. I hate having to take it everyday. I get muscle and joint pain which is a side effect to the statin drugs I have to take. My goal is to get off the meds or at least cut the dosages. I've been dieting for a week now and I feel better allready. Not so sluggish. Thanks for the welcome!

Oh boy do I understand! I've been doing the menopause thing for way too many years. My doc just told me to ride it on through. The pounds do come off hard. But with exercise and careful eating, if your thyroid is okay, (have you had it checked?), I'm finally starting to lose. I do love the tracking available on SP! I think it is fun to keep track, and one of my goals is to get 25 points every day so I can get the bonus spin. Sometimes it is the little things that help make a big difference! emoticon Glad you are here!

Hi Renewnan,
Thanks for the support. Your are lucky you haven't gone through it yet, It is so much harder to lose now. That's even a better reason to lose weight now.
Stay strong.

Welcome
Yes it is hard but we can do it.
Doctor made comments about my eating habits last week in relation to my blood pressure and I have resolved to show him what I CAN do. 58 next month and still not menopausal either

Hi! I'm new and looking forward to losing weight! I have 35 lbs to lose and that I have gained since going through menopause. I'm looking for some encouragement and support from anyone who has lost menopause pounds. I can't lose like I used to, the weight is just doesn't want to come off!
