Hi, I am a new member who joined several months ago. I lost 5 pounds but did not get serious about weight loss until October. I went to a health fair and got a high reading afte eating a banana and even higher glucose reading after a carb luncheon. So, since my blood pressure was a bit high on the high number, I went to the doctor to reconfirm my previous test in Jan that I have hyperthyroid graves disease. The second test in Oct reconfirmed it so I am now on a diabetic diet and taking meds and losing weight.
The doctor did not give me the thyroid test until I asked for it both times so it pays to buy women's health magazines that tell you to ask for tests. I was on a trial depression med at my doctor's advice and it only made me gain weight after one year and did not help much.
I am learning to destress after having 20 years of chronic stress with too many family responsibilities and years of insomnia. I feel better with learning to focus on my own needs and health. Sparkpeople nutrition and weight tracker are a big help. I just need to add more exercise, yoga and meditation to help calm my anxieties and to get rid of the fatigue. iwth more sleep.
If anyone know s how to download the itune spark people exercise album, let me know. I got a litttle icon after spinning the wheel that I got a free download but I could not download Sparkspeople dvd after I went to the itune website and downloaded the itune player. Looks like it is not free and you have to buy it.
