Just work at changing one small thing at a time. The good thing about your bagel story is that you used 1/3 less fat. That's a start. As you cut back little by little you will begin to have less and less cravings. You can and will get it under control if you keep trying. You really can,
Yeah, the food thing is really hard for me. I eat terrible. Today I didn't eat lunch until 2, hungry, bought jalepeno bagels and 1/3 less fat cream cheese. Burnt it a bit, still slathered tons of cream cheese and ate it. Then ate another one because I wanted one 'lightly toasted'!! Terrible! I did get out and walk 2 miles though. Plus did crunches(?), etc. ab stuff/4 different kinds just one time each. This food thing is terrible. Thanks so much for 'listening'!!

Hi, I just joined yesterday. I am a bit overwhelmed by all the computer work there is to this. I spent too much time yesterday, putting in my breakfast and my walking on a map. I ended up eating badly the rest of the day. Justified it by saying had to get rid of this stuff anyways. I saw there was a coach thing, I need help but I don't want to spend tons of time on the computer. Already, wondering if I can do this.
That's just it.....it is not a diet but a lifestyle change. We need to educate ourselves on how to eat healthy to meet our body's needs, then continue to eat healthy for the rest of our lives. That doesn't mean we can't occasionally have a treat, just not every meal or every day. That doesn't mean boring, tasteless, artificially sweetened diet foods. It means real foods, fresh foods, delicious food that is good for us.

Hello Sharon, I know you are right but I have a hard time accepting That a diet is going to be permanent. I guess it's the mindset that diets are temporary and are meant to deny one of the things they like to eat and as such once you have denied your way to a comfortable weight that you should be able to eat what you want. That is flawed I know and is the weakness I need o work on. Thanks, Linda

Hello all! I just joined and hope to lose 47 pounds by my 55 birthday. I can lose but the stickler is keeping it off. I have tried and succeeded at any diet I have used EXCEPT I cannot seem to get it in my head that it has to be a lifestyle choice...not a temporary patch. So I regain. I hope by listening and interacting with others whenever and wherever I need it might be the key to help me change my mindset. I love to read, learn new things, travel, play games, animals, "Big Bang Theory" History channel, pop music, plays and want to get healthy so I can enjoy these things for years to come!
