Hi, Regina! I'm returning to SP after an absence of a few months. (So, I'm approaching this as a "new" member. I reset all my goals, etc.) I'm 52, need to lose about 30 pounds, and want to develop a healthier lifestyle. And, like you, I want to get on track before the holidays!

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years
old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off. took 16 months.
i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x. took 7 months.
use a salad plate as a dinner plate
use fruit for your sweet tooth cravings, an apple works great. helps with the chewing sensation.
fill your salad plate with half vegetables.
we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

Hi and welcome, Regina! You are a kid - I can say that because I turn 64 tomorrow but I know what you mean because I think - in my head - I'm still 30! That's good to think young and, yes, I've been playing around - on and off Spark and 100 other "diets" - for years but this last May I got serious and came back with a new attitude. I have decided to stop worrying about how fast I lose the weight and just lose it at whatever speed my body wants to go . I am only 5' tall so every pound on me looks like 5 on a bigger person. Right now I am 2 sizes smaller then when I started and I am still working on losing 10 more lbs. It will happen because Spark teaches us how to have a new relationship with food - it is not a diet and so it will last a lifetime if you give yourself the time to learn and change your habits to new and healthy ones Being on Spark over the holidays can really help - read the articles and stay active with your teams and together
