Welcome So glad to have you on the team and I know you will get lots of support and encouragement from this group. As Sharon said this is a Try to use your Nutrition Tracker faithfully - especially for the first few months. It shows you much more then how many calories you ate in a day. It allows you to run your daily totals and keep track of your nutrients. It really has shown me how to have a new and healthier relationship with food. You made a great decision when you joined Spark People Looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

Hi and to the team. Making this a lifestyle change instead of a diet is the smart way to go. As you have already seen, diets don't teach us to make permanent changes so we revert to the old habits that got us into this mess to begin with. Making small changes we can live with for the rest of our lives is the way to success.

Welcome to SP. I joined on 9-11-2012. I have since lost 13# and i can feel the difference not only in fat loss but also gain in muscle mass.
This site makes it easy to stay on track if you use all the tolls. The fitness tracker along with the great workout videos make it easy to track the calories burned, although I think some of their figures are too high.
The nutrition tracker makes staying within a calorie range easy. I will admit that I am still whittling away at the store of unhealthy foods I had on hand when I joined (I refuse to just throw stuff away). The calorie and nutrient breakdown lets you see exactly how eat food equates in your plan.
The motivators and coaches here at SP are a great help as well. Reading other peoples trials and triumphs help me continue when I get discouraged.
Best of success in you endeavors
be well.

Hi - I found this wonderful site a few days ago and am just getting around to poking into everything like the teams. I started back trying to get my weight under control about a week and a half ago. Like many, I manage to take the weight off only to revert to old habits and put it right back on. I truly believe that those days are over after finding SparkPeople. Before, it was a struggle to get through the day waiting for the next meal time, but now, I'm just too darn busy being active and learning and tracking what I've accomplished for the days to drag. Now they fly by which sure makes it easier to keep on a healthy diet lifestyle.
