This has been a busy week and a couple of days I barely had time to track food and fitness, but I did the tracking. For me it is very important and keeps me focused. When I am raking leaves and lugging them into the woods I keep reminding myself it is good exercise. My weigh in on Monday was down 2 lbs. for a total of 6 lbs since I started four weeks ago. I know a plateau will come and need to be worked through, but right now I am excited about the progress. Thanks for the Welcome.

Hi and This is a very active team and full of great people who will give you lots of support and encouragement! I also am a "tracker" - without my nutrition tracker I am doomed. I have been tracking long enough now where when I run into a day - or 2 or 3 as was the case this last week - when I had no way to track, I am able to do it mentally and stay within my correct portions and calorie range. That's why Spark is great - you learn something that will last you for life. This is not just another "diet" it is a new lifestyle and one you can actually stay with and feel "normal and alive" around other people. Gone are the days when I felt like "Freaky Carol" because I had to bring my own food to dinner parties to stay on whatever crazy "diet" I was on at that particular time Glad you decided to join us!

I started on Spark People 4 weeks ago and have been roaming around the website. There is so much information here. Thought it was about time to introduce myself and say Hi. I am 65 and need to lose 25-30 pounds. When I get to the 25 I will see about going for 30. Doing the daily tracking is keeping me focused both on what I am eating. Tracking fitness reminds me to exercise and then look forward to getting "credit" for it when I enter the information. I want to stick with this and reach my goal. As we all work together and help each other we will get there.
