Hi and to the team. SP is an awesome site with so much to offer. Have you looking into SparkRecipes here on the site? You can even put in your own recipes and it will calculate the nutrition information for you. You can use recipes from SparkRecipe until you are able to get the Spark Cookbook.

Hi, and welcome Sorry this is late in coming but I don't always seem to get an alert when someone new posts a message or when I have Spark Mail. So glad to have you on the team! Yes, Spark is a great site and it works! Using the Nutrition Tracker is probably one of the most important things you can do to ensure success. It keeps you honest and accountable for your food choices. As far as exercise - walking the dog is great - the important thing is to find a few exercises/activities you ENJOY and then do them 3-4X a week. If you find things you actually like, and look forward to, doing you will stick with them Try to stay active with your Spark Team(s) because this is where you will get support and encouragement as you move toward you goals . Mostly have fun with this and don't worry about losing fast. This is one time the old cliche "slow and steady wins the race" really does apply . Losing at the slow and steady pace give you the chance to learn how to change you old bad relationship with food into a new and healthier one - and your body will stop craving the junk if you give it the time to adjust Good luck

Thanks so much for the nice welcome, and words of encouragment. This week has given me some distractions which would normally make me say, "whatever" I will start tomorrow. That's how the last 8 months went by! This week I have been journaling, using the tracker, and best of all preparing my meals and snacks before my work day. SP is awesome! I am learning where my weaknesses are, and how to arrange my day so they don't get in my way. Have a great day!

I am trying to learn my way around this site. I see you have the Spark cookbook. I will have to check that out. I have been coming up with my own recipes, but I know a cookbook would have lots more to offer. Thanks for writing, have a great evening.
Hi, I joined Spark last week. I have been using the iphone app to track my food and fitness. I guess I have to hop online more often since there is team support.
