Thanks, I have noticed that I have more energy since joining Sparkpeople. The weight is coming off slowly, which is a good thing. I love the tools on the site that are so easy to use. Great to hear from you and I am so happy for you and your sister's success. emoticon

over a year.

THIS WORKS. WENT ON WEEKS CRUISE DID NOT GAIN A POUND.

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years old and has lost 105 pounds. she went from a size 24 to a size 10. all her health issues dropped off as the 105 pounds dropped off.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60. i went from a size 18 to a size 10 shorts and medium tops from a 1 or 2x.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

June 28th marked my 1 year anniversary. In the 15 months I have been on SP I have lost 68 pounds. I started losing on my own and have lost a total of 105 pounds since January of 2009. Utilizing the SP program, increasing exercise, and tracking all the food makes losing weight almost easy. Now that I am getting closer to maintenance losing each additional pound is a struggle but I currently weigh less than I did when I graduated from high school over 40 years ago and I am coming close to what I weighed in 8th grade. emoticon emoticon

What a loaded question emoticon You mean now or the first time. I have been on and off Spark - and under different names - since at least 2006. The problem was never with Spark - this is absolutely the best weight loss program you will find - I'm convinced of that and I've tried 'em all emoticon The problem in the past was me. I wasn't really serious about losing the weight even though I thought I was emoticon I came back in May of this year with a new outlook and a much improved attitude. I've finally stopped blaming everything from pregnancies to genes to the dog for my excess 30 lbs. My youngest son is 30 - how long can a person blame pregnancy for their extra weight emoticon

What I've learned is that the trick is to give your body time to adjust to your new relationship with food. I don't crave all the junk I used to crave because my taste buds are actually changing for the better. I've also finally come to terms with the fact that I can't eat huge portions of starchy carbohydrates and lose weight - I am carb sensitive - but I've learned that you also should not completely cut ANYTHING out of your diet. It is unhealthy and unrealistic to do so. Balance is the key and eating the correct portions. For me, this is working. I've lost 13 lbs., my clothing is baggy emoticon , and I'm not frustrated and hungry all the time like I was in the past when I stayed in my calorie range but used all those calories on empty junk foods that didn't satisfy in the long haul.

So, although my answer is kind of long-winded, I wanted to paint a real picture. It's not how long you've been on Spark but, rather, are you really serious about reaching your goals emoticon I wasn't in the past and I am now and it has made all the difference. emoticon

I have been a member since Feb of this year, however I have only been active since the beginning of September. emoticon Helps me a lot with losing weight emoticon and keeping motivated to exercise emoticon

I just started September 20th. I love it but I'm trying to figure out how to get around in here. There is so much information and good stuff to learn. Are you getting to know it pretty good? Congratulations on your weight loss so far. Keep up the good work.
