Hi, Dorothy, and welcome to Spark and to the Team! You made a great choice. This team is very supportive and caring. It does take a while to learn to navigate around the site and it can be overwhelming when you first join, but you will soon be feeling very comfortable. I would suggest you create a Spark Page as soon as you can because this will allow people to communicate with you and also send you Spark virtual Goodies to help cheer you on as you move towards your goals
My best advice is to: 1) use your nutrition tracker faithfully, every single day, because it will keep you honest and accountable for your choices ; 2) find a few exercises/activities you actually enjoy doing and then do them 3-4X a week. If you find things you enjoy doing you will be more likely to stick with them ; 3) stay active with your team(s) because this is where you will get encouragement, motivation, and hugs on those days when the going is rough and: 4) make this fun If you look at this as an enjoyable experience and something wonderful you are doing for yourself instead of just another dreaded "diet", you will stay with it and maybe ever share a few laughs along the way! Spark isn't another "diet" it is a new way of life: it will help you to develop a new and healthier relationship with food so that you will be able to enjoy the best quality of life possible in a new and slimmer body Don't worry about how fast or slowly you lose the weight. This is one area where 'slow and steady wins the race' is more then just some old cliche It takes time to re-educate yourself and break all the old bad habits. Give yourself the time you need to make these changes and they will last you for your lifetime

I am 50 something, and found spark people through a recipe. I just started, so am still getting into the swing of the site. Nice to have a place to get healthy recipes and to track what I am actually eating.
