Congratulations on your first step to getting healthy. We're all in this together. I'm new here, too, and already know that you couldn't be in a better place. I see you've gotten lots of good advice already.
Go to the August Chat under the Discussion Forums and jump right in. Tell us about yourself. I agree with Carol AZ that the trackers are terrific. I found that after a couple of days I was ready to commit to using them. They are really helping to keep me straight.

Hi and welcome to the Team! You have just been blessed with many buddies to help you through your journey - we all help each other and we all are coming from the same place. Although our stories may vary a little, the ending is the same. We all need to learn to live a satisfying and healthy lifestyle and part of that - maybe the biggest part - is developing a new relationship with food. My best advice for anyone starting out on Spark is this: 1) use your Nutrition Tracker faithfully, every single day, because it will keep you honest with yourself and accountable for your choices; 2) find a few exercises/activities you actually enjoy and then do them 3-4 X a week, every week; 3) stay active with your teams because that's what will keep you motivated, and 4) try to have fun with this Believe it or not, this doesn't have to be something you can't wait to 'finish." You can actually enjoy sharing, learning, and seeing the results with your Spark Friends

Its been 17 days since my last log in. Spark people. In New York on vacation seeing my family. Playing the mother and grandmother role. I am Cooking all their favorite. I am eating less of what i use to eat. I am exercising for example,walking long distance and going up and down stairs on the subways. It sometime feel like stress on my legs and back but i am enjoying being outdoors with them. God bless all my friends and family love.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me

Hi. I am just beginning this journey and would really like a support buddy to help me along the way. Someone to talk to and share with. I have tried to lose weight before and seem to lose a little but then it finds me again and brings along a few extra friends. So if you are interested, please let me know
I guess I should tell you a little about me. I am 51 years old. I've been happily married for 10 years this past July. We have two adoptive sons whom we adopted last August. They were our foster sons prior to adopting them. I work as a social service specialist for the state of Michigan. We just went mobile so I am out of the office more which is a double edge sword because I tend to eat more now that I am not in the office.
I have not been activity in several years. I always said I had reverse anorexia. In that I look in the mirror and see a skinny person! . Now I want to make the image in mind be the image I see in the mirror.
