Hi Ron and welcome. In my experience, when it comes to lasting weight loss, it is helpful to practice moderation rather than deprivation. If you and your wife enjoy eating out, you have to learn how to manage your menu rather than avoid it. For example: - Share the starter with your wife - Ask for sauces on the side - If you go our for dinner - have a smaller meal at lunch and/or get more active to burn calories - If possible, check the menu online and make conscious choices about what you will and won’t eat Good luck.
Hi, Ron and Looking up the restaurant on the internet is the best way because you can make some decisions ahead of time. DH and I very rarely eat out any more. To be honest, after eating really healthy food for a while, the stuff in restaurants just doesn't taste very good - you start noticing the grease and all the salt that you never noticed before. Anyhow, glad to have you both on Spark

There are a lot of resturants that when you google them will bring up their menus and give you the nutrition information on their different foods. I do this a lot before I go out and eat. There is also a webe site www.dwlz.com that you can go to and they list a lot of info on this site as well.
