Thank you!! I love your blog! I am totally hooked on gardening, however flowers is my forte not vegetables. I hope I stay as excited about this program as I have been thus far. Success comes from dedication and pushing so here I go.

Thank you. Learning as I go so any additional info is greatly appreciated. My name is Kayron, pronounced just like Cameron but Kay instead of Cam. :) My mother always called me Kaye but my dad never went there. :) I love to hear about people, other than myself, who are aging with good health in mind. I taught P.E. for years so shame on me if I do not take care of myself. I love to visit the gym and spend days working in my yard during the warmer seasons. I allowed this Thanksgiving and Christmas to become my downfall. I ate more than I should and did not visit the gym often enough. Now I have to work extra hard to rid those extra pounds. You keep up the good work and stay in touch. This was was 1st week and rather impressed with this program. Move over "Weight Watchers"!!!! ~Kayron~. (aka, Kaye) Indiana
Welcome Kay. Is that your name? It would be helpful if you could post your name and where you live at the bottom of your message. It's fun to see what part of the world members live.
I will be 71 April 2nd, don't feel it, am very healthy, take no meds. I do need to lose ten or 15 pounds and walk more. I plan to start walking outside when the weather warms up. I cook from scratch and eat very few processed foods and don't use salt except to clean my coffee pot.
I am all excited about this new journey! I love the way we can lift and encourage one another. So my tip to you and others is, "One day at a time". I have made my daily breakfast almost the same so I can keep up with it more easily. Lunch is easy, however, my dinner is where I am putting on the carbs. Today is actually the last day of my first week. Althought I weighed in early and recorded having lost only one pound, I jumped on the scales today and it is the 2 lbs per week I need to reach my goal. Yeah!!! OK!!! so let's get on our workout clothes and hit the gym!!! Wish I had a work out buddy here. Have a super day!!!!
So, I have another family, "Spark People". Thank you in advance for all your support. I am beginning this new and exciting journey with less than a week on the charts, but with a positive outcome already!!! Wait a minute, let me introduce myself before I get so carried away. I am a medically retired teacher, 61 years young (not old) one daughter and one step daughter and married to a loving, kind and gentle man for 16 years. We love our home life. I love to garden in my many flower beds and he loves to dab into politics. We try to take a short trip once a year somewhere in the beautiful U.S. for a nice vacation. My life became filled with all moving and going that healthy eating and exercise was so far on the bottom of my list that I ignored it. Yes, you guessed it! Cholesterol off the chart, diabetics on the edge and facing other issues if I did not make a change. Although I am on a cholesterol medicine it was not dropping enough. I got serious. I began a daily visit to my gym. Looked into eating less fat and more fiber. Cholesterol was the lowest in over 20 years. So now I am waiting for 3 months before I can take another A1C test for diabetes. This is my chance to finally make it count. I am 5'4" and should be at a weight of about 136-140 and I am not. But... my goal is to get there at the time frame SP has given me. So as I encourage you to give it your best shot, let's think healthy and make our life worth living! "Out with the old and in with the new"!!!
