Welcome, Ann. While I never smoked, my husband did. When he quit, his metabolism slowed and he put on weight. He increased his physical activity and while he does keep an eye on what he eats, I really believe it was the physical activity that enabled him to take the weight off. Good luck. emoticon

My name is Ann and I am 63 years old. I quit smoking for over 12 years and then started again for 13 years. I quit again in Sept and since then I have slowly but surely put weight on. I haven't changed my eating habits and eat very healthy! I am so frustrated as now I need to loose 20+ lbs.! I have done the South Beach Diet and lost weight on it, but don't really want to do it again! I do, however, try to eat low GI foods!
I am really hoping I can loose the weight by being on here!
