Welcome! I too started from rock bottom six months ago and now feel as if I've been lit on fire! Awesome! I love being in control of my eating and feeling so light and energetic. Life is good! Have fun on Sparkpeople - there are so many great resources. Just take your time and don't get overwhelmed. emoticon

I'm almost 64 and 6 weeks ago made a decision to start my own "Journey to Wellness". At that time I had been fighting depression, was tired and sluggish, felt bloated most of the time, and sometimes had a hard time getting out of bed. I weighed 155 pounds, looked 'older, and thought 'this is just the way it is'.' I spent a week-end with my youngest son (28 years old) and a 'light went on' as he and I talked about how he overcame is INS and depression. At that moment I decided to move toward changing my life. The journey has been (and is) incredible. I began by juicing (which has changed my life). Next .. 'No White' .. which means sugar and at white starch is gone from my life. I have journey a group here in my hometown run by a nutritionist/certified exercise instructor who every week gives me 'new knowledge' and personal coaching. I find that I an 'eating up' the empowerment from the science of health. And today I'm under 140 pounds, lost 2 inches in my waist, have more energy and am more positive. I've joined this group at my 'coaches' suggestion and am looking forward to interacting with all. Blessings!
