You and I have about the same amount of weight to go. I've been on the team for a while and found the members to be very supportive but haven't made any progress since I wasn't as strict as I needed to be all summer. I am 60, have lost 35 pounds so far but it has taken me 2 1/2 years so some of the loss was before I joined Spark People. I have a really hard time losing unless I really work hard so I've gone back to what works for me. I do the 17 Day Diet, (google it) which I restarted yesterday, exercise two hours a day (zumba, pilates, y pump which is a weight lifting class, y box, water aerobics) and be patient. I have 15 or less pounds to lose and these last pounds are all in my belly and love handles and soooo hard to get off but I'm hoping that now that I get back to my proper diet, they will come off although I know it will be slow so I'm hoping by Christmas. I refuse to give up!!

Welcome. You have a whole team to partner with so there's no shortage on support and accountability. And yes, what a great gift to yourself. Take it 5 pounds at a time and give yourself room to find your way. I don't find it easy at all but it is simple. Use the food and exercise trackers to be sure you burn more calories than you take in.

Hello all!! I have these 15 lbs that just need to go. I keep setting a goal date and then watch it go by and now it is time to be held accountable and go for it. I suspect that the first 5 are doable but the last 10 are going to be rough. I would love a buddy to go through this with!! This might just be the best Xmas gift I could ever give myself.
