Welcome, Monica. I read somewhere that idealy a person should drink a glass of water after every cup of coffee, tea or alcoholic drink. But I have also read that liquid is liquid and should be counted. A year ago I was drinking three 22 oz bottles of water, 10 cups of coffee and three or four cups of green tea and ended up in the hospital because I had washed all the sodium and potassium (electrolites) out of my body. My legs hurt and ankles swelled. My mindset was 'if a lot is good, more is better'. So I cut way back on my water, coffee and tea and everything went back to normal.

Use your own judgement and don't go overboard. Happy journey.

Drink green, white or herbal tea that is decaffeinated, and it may be counted as water intake. Plus you'll get a healthy dose of antioxidants, to boot!

Welcome to the team.
I've heard people answer both yes and no. Yes it's liquid but no because it's a diuretic rather than hydration.

Hello, I'm Monika and I am working towards losing 20 pounds, have lost 3 so far. Question for the group, I tend to be a hot coffee and tea (with 1 splenda) person, can this liquid be considered and counted as my water in-take for the day? :)
