For the 3 (?) years that I have been with Sparkpeople, it has been 10 pounds during the last 2 years. Stuggling to keep it within the 10 pounds, I have decided to look at it as "positive"....as my "lee-way" of 10 pounds. But when I cut my protein (meat) servings from 5/6 oz per meal to 3 oz per meal ( from 2 pieces of chicken to 1 piece of chicken)the pounds started to come off 1/2 to 1/4 pound a week.
I also started a little more cardio each day (1/2 hr. more). (from 30 min to 60 min.)
I finally conquered that final 10, just in time to regain some of it for the holidays, so will start loosing it again after Jan. 1 st !!!

Skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand,
Crystle Lite in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
"WOO HOO what a ride!"

Yep, that last ten pounds comes and goes. I ideally would like to keep it off but I feel that if I am staying within that range that is better than it getting out of hand. Ironically, I have found this time of year easier to manage my weight than during summer (I live in Florida). With the cooler weather I have more energy and get more exercise.

Petaldear, I find it very frustrating too. I have been losing the same pounds for years now.

My Goodnes, I can relate to this problem! I was within 2 pounds of my goal for a year. Then I changed up my exercise and started counting my glasses of PLAIN water. I lost those last 2 pouonds. FINALLY reached my goal. Then we had company come for 3 months. I stayed on track for the first 2 months, but then life took it's own turn and I put on 7 1/2 pounds. I've taken off 2 of those. sigh....

I guess if I were you I'd keep counting those calories, but maybe change up the exercise routine? And make sure you get enough sleep. (That part can be hard if you have menopause symptoms at night)

I lost my 10 pounds+ in a period of 3 months since I joined SP - which may have been a little too quick (and I have noticed that I'm gaining a bit of weight now that winter is coming on and the salads and fruit just don't keep me going all day anymore!)

But one of the things I am learning is that I'm in this for the long run and I'm just not going to worry about a pound or two here or there - main concern is health and fitness and if one is in control of those, that's the crux! emoticon

I've had complications and gained 15 lbs while on medicine. I'll be on this indefinatly as without it I wouldn't be able to walk. I still haven't heard from the surgeons office.

I'm holding my own (pretty much), up and down but same lbs. Hope to get it down slowly.

I can relate to your frustration. You are doing the exercise and trying to eat healthy but the scale isn't budging. I couldn't break the 135 barrier. Two things seemed to have helped me break 135 and keep it down: logging my nutrition everyday and bumping up my protein. Now I'm shooting to break that 130 barrier.

I put on about 5 lbs. 6 months ago. I can seem to get it off. I am using the nutrition tracker on this sight to document what I'm eating. I don't use the suggested meals; I put in what I actually eat. I think the tracker helps me to know if I'm on the right track.

Hi
Was just wondering how many people in this team are in the same position as me. I am trying to lose those last ten pounds. It is very slow. Even though I know that is for the best. Weight lost slowly stays off better than quick weight loss. I have been between 135 pounds and 133 for the last 6 months.Do strength training, cardio and stay within my calorie range.Tabata training etc Have looked at clean eating and body builder diets. Tried one for 2 weeks. Couldn't stand not having fruit or my coffee. I am wondering if I just stay on track I will lose at the rate of 1 pound a month. I read somewhere that that is a recommended rate of loss for permanent weight loss. What do others think?
