Amanda, I totally feel like we are in the exact same both. So glad to be off today as I was able to sit down and check out this site that I heard about from a friend. Joined today and found so many inspiring things that its hard to find out where to start.

Hi! I'm 39, my name is Michelle, and I have about a total of 235 pounds to lose, I'm down 19.

One little trick I used to make it seem a little less overwhelming is to set my goal for the half way point, but I may set it to quarters, instead. Small chunks are so much less daunting.

No matter what, you can always start over at the next meal or morning, so don't freak out if you have issues here and there. We all have moments, but you can also plan them so you don't feel deprived, reducing the risk of going over board.

Anyway, WELCOME!

Okay, I changed it. :-)

There is a lot of support to be had here! I, too, have a lot of weight to lose. What I have finally discovered after 36 years is that it can't be an all or nothing mentality. This takes baby steps. You've got to replace habits that you've had for years with better ones. You are going to make mistakes and that is okay. Learn from those mistakes and make better choices next time. I'm breaking my journey into small, manageable bits and looking at other accomplishments besides the scale to keep me going. Set up your sparkpage and start adding friends! You won't regret it! emoticon

I need to lose between 180 and 190 lbs. As much as I would like to see it gone in 6 months, I know that it's not realistic and definately not healthy. I have been going since the first of July and I have lost 12.4 lbs. I may have lost more by not but I have had some not so good moments...and that will happen sometimes to ALL OF US! What I focus on is just continuing to move ahead and not look/go back! As one of the other ladies said...slow and steady wins the race. I focus on losing the next pound and I get totally excited every time I lose just 1 little lb because I know those little pounds add up to be a lot! You will do this!

Becky

God is my strength!

NOTE: My weight loss ticker is done up for shorter goals and once reached will change goal weight again.

Hi Amanda and welcome to the team, you can do this just remember to take it slow and focus on making small changes that will keep you motivated but not overwhelm you. Remember slow and steady wins the race. You will have help an support along the way.

*** Sharleen *** Motivational captain 30 something challenge

The road to success is not straight. There is a curve called Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends, red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family. You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith, a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.
