Hi everyone, I'm new too! I just recently got married and I'm determined to make 2014 a better year all round, from losing weight to working more sensible hours to just getting the dishes done when supper is over! I would like to lose 100 pounds, but my first goal is 200 pounds, since I honestly can't remember the last time I weighed that little...seriously, I've been in a size 20 since I was thirteen. No more!!

Hello, everyone. My name is Thaís and I live in Brazil. My boyfriend is from Sweden and I have plans of moving in with him by the end of 2014. I've been a member of SparkPeople for 4 years now and I had lots of ups and downs, but lately, I've been having a hard time losing weight.
I think that is mainly due to being away from my love, stress at work and all the anticipation of moving abroad that is making me anxious and giving me unstoppable cravings.

I joined this group because I just turned 30 and I am tired of being this overweight. I also plan on starting a family soon and I want to be healthy and fit before I do so.

Any help is welcome and I hope to make a bunch of friends so we can help each other in this journey!

Hello! Jumping in here to say hi! My name is Kelly and I'm a 37 year old single working girl. I'm tired of feeling life passing me by each and every day and literally only having enough energy to make it through the work day and then crashing at home. I feel like if I post here I'll try and be more accountable with myself and feel a part of things. For me, it's baby steps in a better direction. I'm starting small because I think I psych myself out when I think I need to do a long workout or have a perfect eating day. So, for me I feel I've had a successful day because I made it to the treadmill, drank more water, and said no to the Hershey Kisses today. So hello to everyone and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you guys and having some motivational friends. =)

I can and I will!

Hi Guys, my name is Heather and I'm 30 yrs old. I recently reached my highest weight ever and decided it was time to make a change in my life. I have been struggling with weight my entire life but now it's out of control. I have lost a bit of weight before joining spark people but was looking for something to hold me accountable something I have never had...

Hello all, I'm Ali. I'm 39 years old and am married with no kids. I have always been overweight, but it's really hitting home lately when I got on the scale at my Dr's office and saw the number - 262. I just can't keep living like this. In the past, I have successfully lost weight, only to gain it back again (plus some) only a short time later. I know this is the story for a lot of people, but I no longer want to be a sad statistic - I want to be a success story.

My goal is to make it to under 200 lbs by my 40th birthday in November.

Hi all! It's always strange to me to try to introduce myself like this, but here's my story. After being a little to moderately overweight for most of my adult life, I had health issues during my first pregnancy and was put on light activity, and eventually bed rest. By the time my son was born, I had put on a RIDICULOUS amount of weight, and checked into the hospital for his birth at 283 lbs (I'm 5'6") A few pounds came off right away of course, but combination of becoming a SAHM and the ugly weather (winter baby) started me off on bad habits when it came to getting off my butt. Four years, and one more baby later, and I still weighed in at 270 not long ago.

For my 40th birthday this coming fall, I've scheduled a cruise with some friends and I REFUSE to get on that boat looking and feeling like this. I have a deal with my SO, every 5 pounds lost between now and then is worth spending money on my trip, and making it to 200 pounds before I leave means he pays for my plane ticket as well. So while I have an overall goal of getting to 140 pounds, right now I'm concentrating on the fall. 70 pounds in 9 months? Completely reasonable and I WILL make it happen.

I can't change yesterday, only today.

I'm a wife and working mom of 2 kids (2 & 4). Life has not been easy, but I'm thankful everyday for it. I've decided 2014 will be my year! Whatever the outcome, I will be grateful for every person in my life and for every experience. I've decided to make my body healthy to match my healthy outlook!

I'm here to give support. I'm here to receive support. We are all in this journey together! Feel free to message me, friend me, whatever.... I'm here either way! emoticon

Hello, I just recently turned 39 and realized that I still weigh just under 300 lbs. I have been fighting to drop below 270 and can't seem to get there. I know that I am not a very motivated person to do anything that I don't want to. I have done Sparkpeople before but it has been a many years and absolutely loved it then, so we will see where I go.

I am married to a Mexican and we have 3 kids; 16yr old boy and 4 yr old girl twins. So my day to day life is busy and right now VERY stressful. My girls put me thru the ringer every day.

I am wanting to work on my weight most of all but then my stress, sleep, and parenting skills. I do great starting out but then something happens in my life and I slip back. then it is harder to get started again. I can't afford to do the whole package of loosing weight and hoping that this will kick start me into it.

I am planning on going on a Ladies Retreat in April and would love to loose at least 30lbs and feel good about it. But I can only do what I can push myself to do.

With the Good Lord's help, I will get to where I need to go.

Hi all my name is Jenn and I am new here, obviously. Like my page says I have struggled with weight most of my life and believe that I am in fact a food addict. Add that to a comfortable and grateful life and you get 340 lbs. of pure self loathing. I am desperate to get it off and keep it off this time and joined the gym, started yesterday where I could barely do an embarrassingly short time, 15 minutes, on a bike. I am here because I have tried it all with many successes only to regain just about every lb.

I am 32 years old, work with special needs children and am recently engaged to a wonderful and supportive man. I am divorced from an abusive and not so supportive man. I have twins that live with my fiance and I as well as standing to gain 2 sons from my fiance's 1st marriage. I am truly thankful to God for all I have and feel that I am squandering the gifts I was given by ruining my body like this. I am here to gain support and help others in any way I can. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this and I look forward to making friends and learning from you all.

No matter how slow you go you are still lapping everybody on the couch.

No matter how many people at that gym make me feel uncomfortable, I am there for ME and my FAMILY. If they were working out the right way they wouldn't have time to notice me anyway.

Hello everyone,

I haven't had a chance to post yet and have been on spark people for almost two weeks. Well where to start. I am 31 years old and am blissful in every aspect of my life. I married the love of my life the day after Christmas. We are blessed with two beautiful children. I am going to school to become an elementary teacher and this semester I will graduate with my associates in early childhood and I also start my bachelors classes. So right now I am just in a place of appreciation and gratitude for my life and everyone in it.

In October of last year I was a complete different person. The shift happened fast. In one second. It began on a regular Tuesday. Since, I live in the middle of town all of my family comes and visits regularly and even lets themselves in. We are a super close family. Anyway I was taking a nap with my baby and we woke up. I went to the living room and was happy to see my little brother sitting at my computer. It was the first time he came over since he had a benign tumor removed a few days ago. It had been a standard procedure. As routine removed tumors - even when benign still get biopsied - the doctors said not to worry, there was only a 5% risk it was cancerous. He seemed quiet so I asked him what was up. He simply stated, "The doctor just called me, turns out they ran tests on the tumor that was removed and it contained cancerous cells". I immediately felt like the air had been sucked out of my body and my heart broke. I am the oldest in my family and helped raise my siblings. I had to put all of my emotions aside and be there for him. My father and other siblings were out of town for the day so I immediately called my mother. She came right over.
And just like that our lives changed. My brother didn't shed a tear. Infact he had one wish, he didn't want anyone to make a "big deal" out of it. So much to the point that we only told our family of what was going on. We pushed worry, fear, anger, frustration, sadness, and any negative feelings out the door in order to be there for him as much as possible. They decided to have him go through 33 radiation treatments. This would take place an hour away, 5 days a week. The language given to us was about severe pain because if it being in the salivary glands, the expectation of weightloss and other scary things. So, there we were,my 20 year old brother had cancer, a tumor first biopsied on as begnin, then given a 5% of being cancerous - was diagnosed as stage 2, my brother who refuses to eat fast food and works out 5 days a week. It made no sense.
My brother stated that day that he wasn't going to start feeling bad for himself because that wouldn't change anything. So we did the same. I started praying, in the beginning weeks that was all I did all day long. Before his treatments started he went through several tests and scans and the results showed no spreading and the nerves were not affected!!! My praying changed to giving gratitude, I would just state in my head thankyou, thankyou for healing my brother in a kind and gently manner, in the fastest way possible.

Last week was his last radiation treatment. He never got severe pain and even though at the start he barely had any body fat he didn't lose weight. There is no doubt in my mind that this was the hardest few months of his life. The way my brother went through his healing journey - there are no words for me to describe how proud I am of him. I can't I am just so motivated, inspired, proud, filled with gratitude, love, bliss and happiness. I know that the journey is not over for him, with future testing, but I know he will be ok. I know that he will be someone that others going through what he went through will hear about his story and have hope and faith. I know he has changed my life completely in the best way possible.

I have a new perception on life and what is important. I know what stress truly is and where it should be given. I know to always have gratitude in everything and when there is a small bump in the road to shift my emotions and think of it in a new light. So, the best way I can think to thank my little brother- the little baby boy with the big cheeks and cutest and naughtiest smile who has grown into a young man and is my hero - is to live my life the best I possibly can. So that is why I am here. I am going to get as healthy as I can, live my life to the fullest and radiate bliss and light onto everyone around me. Losing this weight is my first step. And I have never been happier to be right here, right now and where I am today. It isn't about the finish line, it is about living happily as I meet my goals. ALWAYS. emoticon

Hello my name is Mike. I am 30 years old and have 3 kids whom are 6, 6, and 5. I have tried many times successfully and unsuccessfully to drop weight and keep it off, but my love for drinking beer socially seems to not what me to :). At one point I didn't drink any alcohol for 10 weeks straight and lost over 50lbs while exercising as well. My problem is that when I have a beer or two, it turns in to three or four and then I don't care what I eat because all inhibitions are out the window.

So I'm going to try to go 15 weeks this time and see what happens. Though nothing will change if I can't learn to just drink "a beer" when going out with friends and not over doing it and feeling like blah the next day and say "Oh forget all the work I did the last 10 weeks! I'm to tired!"

The other hard part is I work in IT as a Network Admin. Which means most of the day is on my booty and by the time I get home from work... even though there wasn't any labor I feel more tired than when I used to be on my feet all day working.

So just wanted to say hi, and here I go again :)

Hello all. My name is Raechel and I am 31. I have no children - just my two dogs (my babies). I started my journey late December, but didn't really start counting my weight loss until the first of the year. The goal is 7 pounds a month and I'm on track for hitting that goal for January (woohoo!). One of my pups is my workout buddy...She loves to be on the treadmill. I have a pic of her on my page. She's a doll. My Ezra though...he wants nothing to do with it. And I refuse to go out in single digit or negative degree weather to walk him.
I work in IT, and I'm working on my third Microsoft Certification this year - MCSE Lync Server 2013. I already have a Cert for Server 2012 (MCSA) and one for Office 365 (MCITS). I love what I do, but it isn't conducive to an active lifestyle. So I'm being really careful with what I eat and making sure I get up at the crack of dawn to work out.

My name is Kristy and I am not new to SparkPeople or losing weight. I have lost #50 & 60# in the past and have gained them back. I am here on my third serious attempt at getting healthy. My dad has diabetes and I know that if I don't take action, it will be in my future too. I am 39 and will turn the big 40 in July. I want the 2nd half of my life to be much healthier than the first half. So here's to a new beginning.

Hi everyone. I'm Emily, and I'm no beginner when it comes to losing weight--the problem is that I've allowed myself to gain it back again. I'm not 34 years old and have about 150 lbs to lose. I honestly never thought I'd be this heavy again, and while I'm very down about it, I'm trying to keep my head above water and get myself back on the right track. I could sure use some encouragement along the way as I move down a better path! The worst part is remembering how much better it felt to be thinner and not beating myself up for letting myself get back to where I am now.

I used to run, and my goal is to get back to that as well as to adopt a more vegetarian lifestyle. Running made me feel better about myself than anything else I've ever done. I'll be honest--right now my confidence is down and staying motivated has been difficult, and I'm here to get the woman I used to know back.

"Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs, the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells "CAN'T''. But you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper ''can''. And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are."

Hi all! New here, just found SP and thought it sounded like a great way to get motivated, focused, and accountable for my weight and health! BTW - LOVING the Android App!!! Little background: I will be 40 this year and have been overweight my whole life and finally decided I don't want to live the next 40 years of my life just trying to wish my excess weight away! I have 150lbs to lose and a lot to learn! Looking forward to reading and sharing in this forum! emoticon

Happy Saturday everyone!

I re-joined SP on Wednesday after losing 19lbs on my own from my highest weight of 293lbs. I am back to get support from people and encouragement. I am 34 and happily married.

I have a personal goal of a minimum of 7000 steps a day and so far I have exceeded that goal since setting it a few days ago. Of course I just need to keep the momentum going.

I have hypothyroidism and they are still trying to get my medication level right after 4 years. I am hopeful that my next blood test in March after the latest change in medication will show them which way to go. Plus I would like to feel more energetic during the day. And a good night's sleep would be lovely.

HW: 293 lbs
CW: 274 lbs
GW: 140 lbs

I am going to focus on 10% losses as my mini-goals. So my mini-goals are as follows:
CW: 274lbs
10% #1: -27.4 lbs = 246.6 lbs
10% #2: -24.6 lbs = 222 lbs
10% #3: -22.2 lbs = 199.8 lbs
10% #4: -19.9 lbs = 179.9 lbs
10% #5: -17.9 lbs = 162 lbs
10% #6: -16.2 lbs = 145.8 lbs
final loss: -5.8 lbs = 140 lbs

Knocking the pounds off this way makes it seem like less that the total 134lbs I need to knock off.

Here's to us all reaching our goals!

Hello, I am 38 years old going on 39 epps. I was up to 298 so far I am down to 274. I work out daily and loving it. it feels so good to be able to see everyday that I am feeling stronger and seeing I can do more everyday that I wasn't able to do. I honestly can say I do eat very healthy I never did like a lot of junk food. I gained a lot of weight when I was placed on a very high doges of steroids and was on it for many years. It was very hard in the beginning to watch myself gaining pound after pound. I would go off the steroids and start to lose. Then I would end right back in the hospital placed on another round of steroids that would weeks if not a year or 2 of non stop steroids the weight I would lose would right back with more weight. it was very frustrating. Now that I been off them for a few years I am taking control of my life and fighting back to be able to be healthier and take control of my life for me. I believe that doing this I have to do it only for me and me only to be about to be successful for myself and be able to take the control of my life.

Hello every one!
I don't think I have visited this group yet,I thought I had. emoticon

Any way, I just joined Spark People this week.
I am 32 and weigh 350 pounds and would like to lose 170 pounds.

I plan on taking small steps so hopefully they become permanent changes in my life.
I want to do at least ten minutes on the treadmill the first week. Watch what I eat and get in my daily intake of water.

I want to be healthy, happy,a good role model for my nephew and would love to cosplay again!

Hi everyone,
My name is Arianna, I am 33, and mom of 2. I'm looking for some friends to learn from. As well as to be support for each other. Weight loss has been the biggest struggle of my life and I plan to win. I am so thankful for Spark. I've already learned so much in a short amount of time. So I look forward to wonderful things.

With each pound I lose, I gain more of myself.

Hi! I'm 34, SAHM with an almost 3 year old son and in the process of either diagnosing a Cushing's Disease endocrine.niddk.nih.gov/pubs/cushing

or ruling it out (tho she believes part of my weight issues is most definitely endocrine with my body shape, fatigue, stretch marks, "fatty hump between the shoulders" - check out the link, it might save your life). At my last doctor's appointment I was surprised to see the scale heading closer to 400 than I ever dreamed. We're building a battle plan to fight as hard as we can, with my ultimate goal to WIN. I don't have an option - it's win or die.

I'm trying to get the Cushing's Disease SparkTeam back up and going @

Hello! I am 38, soon to be 39 and am ready to lose about 114lbs. I am 5' tall and on Tuesday I weighed 234 lbs. In my younger days, I was a cheerleader, in dance and was very active. I have slowly gained this weight and now I am ready to shed some pounds. I have recently been dreaming about running (for exercise) on the beach near our summer vacation spot and I really want to make that dream come true. My wonderful husband loves me the way I am, so for that I am happy, but I want to feel better. I am hoping that this forum can give me some support that I need.

On Tuesday, I began the FAST diet. This is a diet plan with 2 non consecutive days of "fasting" (eating less than 500 calories) and the other 5 days eating healthy. I have been hearing about this on NPR and decided I could do it. I made it through Tuesday under the 500 calories and it was not as hard as I anticipated. Today is my second fast day this week and I am doing well so far.

Wish me Luck!
Nicole

See you on the Thin Side,
Nicole

Hello Everyone, My name is Mistie & I am 32 & a married mother of 3 girls, ages 12, 9 & 2. I am disabled with a chronic condition called CRPS/RSD. And I also have Fibro. I have to be very careful of my exercise or their are very painful consequences. I used this site before and had great success. Life happened, we moved, had another baby & I am heavier now than I ever thought about being. I am ashamed to say my goal is to lose 161 lbs but not ashamed to say I am standing up & doing something about it! I am looking for a buddy to help me along as I help them along. I know it is easier to make this work when you have a buddy system. So, please message me if your interested. I wish you the best, GOD Bless!!

Hi everyone my name's Jen. I'm 37 and have about 150lbs to lose. I met the most wonderful man last year who loves me at the size I am but I've already told him I want to be smaller to be healthier.

We went to get married next year and I want to be able to get the kind of wedding dress I want without worrying if I'll be able to fit in it. I'm looking forward to talking to anyone who want to talk and I know that together we can do this.

God Bless!

Hi everyone. I am 33 and need to lose about 100 lbs. I have tried everything and am starting over today. My husband is taking me on a cruise at the end of the year, and I want to wear a bathing suit, maybe having an actual goal will help me succeed. I am excited to see so many people here and look forward to this.

Hi, my name is Alex. I'm turning 30 in March and have 100-120 lbs to lose. I work full time and have four step-daughters and a wonderful husband. I was apart from my family for three years for school, and since I got back my husband and I have been living the good life in all the wrong ways, like a year long celebration.

Now we want to have a baby, and I know that I need to lose weight and get in better shape so that I can be a better step-mother and good mom to my own kids. And of course I'm worried about fertility issues because of my size!

Looking forward to getting to know others who are in similar situations and receiving and providing support.

Hi everyone! I started using spark back in 2010. I was very successful and lost over 70 pounds. Gained it again then lost another 70 to have a baby. Had a baby and gained it all back again! Yes I am a yo-yo dieter and want to stop that cycle.

I am currently 5 days in on the Dr. Oz Rapid Weight Loss plan.

I am looking to find a couple of buddies to help keep me on track. Would like to exchange spark mail a few times a week to check up on each other. I have over 150 pounds to loose and would like a buddy with similar weight loss goals. Feel free to spark mail me.

Hi everyone!! I joined almost 2 years ago and then life got crazy with husband job loss and school and life and and and and...

My name is Lynsey--I have struggled with my weight most of my life...but really started after I fot out of high school. I don't have a weight loss "plan" (as in Atkins, Paleo, weight watchers etc) per se. I'm starting with cutting the crappy foods--fried, ice cream etc. My husband is going to be joining me on this as we are both the heaviest we've ever been and are not fans.

Hello Team,

I've struggled with my weight all of my life, but have worked hard to give me some time and space to REALLY FOCUS on my weight. I worked and saved up a bunch of money, so for the next 6 months, I can afford to work part time from home and really devote all of my attention to getting healthy and releasing 200+ lbs.

I've hit rock bottom, but am ready to bounce back up. 34f/PCOS/Severe Depression.

I'm using my SparkPeople app on my phone, which I love.

I'd love to meet new friends. Please Private Message me and find me on Facebook, if you'd like.

What I tell myself a hundred times a day: "I don't feel like doing this, but I choose to. My genes, my family upbringing, the compulsions and habits trained into me are NOT me. Only my will is "me." And, my free will chooses to be healthy."

Hi everyone!
I'm Clara. I'm 34, married with 3 boys. My eldest son is a Marine and he just got married on Sunday. I live in the San Diego area. I just returned to SP after being gone a while. I'm still struggling with food addiction and weight. Just when I thought I was doing okay, I stepped on the scale this morning and I GAINED. emoticon Time to re-evaluate what I've been doing! I look forward to connecting with you!

Hi all. My name is Ally, and I live in sunny Los Angeles. I recently turned 30, and it has been a wake up call for me. I put on a lot of weight in the last year or so after a really bad break up, and I am looking to get back to my old, athletic self. I have been a fan of Spark Recipes for a while, but am new to this particular site, and I am looking forward to getting involved.

Good morning all! I am almost 32 and a full time busy momma! Between my husband and I we have 7 children and a grandchild! 3 are my bio kids ages 11, 9 and 19 months. Two are boy adopted by my husband from his first marriage ages 22 &15. Then we have two foster babies that we are taking care of ages 2 & 3. We are in the process of adopting our 2 year foster and can't be happier about it. I stay busy running around with all of the kids while holding down a full time job. I have let myself go along the way and it is now time to change that! I was mainly here to track my food and fitness but what could new friends hurt, right? Good luck to you all!!

Hi everyone. I am new here. My name is Heather and I am from Ontario, Canada. I will be turning 40 this year and have decided it is time to do something about my weight. I struggle with the exercise and fitness portion as I have 4 autoimmune diseases and it makes it difficult to even get through my daily activities. I'm hoping that this site will help me achieve my goal.

I have started my weight loss journey once again. I have tried over and over and have failed. I am really determined this time. I am getting older and know I have to get this under control. I am turning 38 soon. . I have two beautiful boys they are 6 and 2. I want to be able to play with them without wanting to sit down. I want to do this for them and myself. I'm hoping to connect with others that have a lot to lose so we can motivate each other. I have always stayed on track better when I have other people to keep me accountable. I was wondering if there was a weekly weigh-in within this group? That has always motivated me to stay in track and try harder. I hope we all reach our goals in 2014.

Hi everyone! My name is Crystal and I am 30 years old. I live with my husband in SW PA. I need to lose about 115lbs to reach my goal. I've lost weight using Sparkpeople before but I have since gained it back after getting married. I would really like to make some spark buddies to help keep me accountable! Hope to get to know as many of you as possible! :)

Hi all,

I am a 31 year old from rural Washington State. I have a beautiful 8 month old daughter and a fantastic fiancee. We are supposed to be getting married in August and I just want to feel my best and not cringe when I look in the mirror. I also want to be able to keep with my forever moving child :) She is just learning how to crawl and motor around in her walker. I look forward to this journey and hope to make great new friends. emoticon

Hi Everyone
I am a 37yo wife and mother of 3 busy teenagers. I am also a full time sales person in my families RV business. I have been on and off sparkpeople for years and about 3 years ago I lost 85 pounds. Now I have put it all back on and then some and I have about 150 pounds to lose asap. I am looking for a group to join for inspiration and support. I have to do this because I am starting to have a lot of pain and health issues and I am WAY too young to feel this old!

Thanks.
Michelle

Hello All!

I'm a 34 year old wife and mother. I have an almost 6 year old, b/g twins who will be 3 in March and a 3 month old. I also work full-time as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.

I have 106 pounds to lose and am hoping that by introducing myself and participating in the SP community I can find the motivation and support I need to achieve my goals.

I love helping and supporting others, however, never want to ask for help or support for myself.

I look forward to finding some Spark Friends to share this journey with!

I'm a 35 y/o wife & mother of 2 young boys, a university prof & a clinical director at a child mental health center, & have about 120lbs to lose.

I have tried many diets over the past few years and they all start off well for the first few weeks and then I slip up, get depressed and give up.

I have joined a crossfit centre and have started going 3 times a weak. Feel the BURN! LOL

I would love to find some online companions so that we can cheer each other on along the way.

I think think that the 25lb quarterly challenge will be a good way to break down my goal!

Hello I am 39 I have been with SP for a while now but never really took it seriously. You could say I was a habitual exercise and fitness stalker but never a doer. I want to change that my health depends on it. I am at the heaviest that I've been in my life and I feel it all over. I am looking for motivation and some workout partners in my area Charlotte NC as well.

I am stronger today than I was yesterday.

Morningsky, you know I was never really skinny but I look back at my high school pics when I thought I was fat...Man what I wouldn't do to be that size again! :) What is your blog? I have a blog off of SP, but it's primarily becoming just a page on FB.

New here, 34 yo teacher and mother of 3 (8-dd,9-ds, 11-ds). I have about 100 lbs to lose. I used to be a dancer when I was younger, now I can't run around the block. When I was a teenager I dropped weight easily when I exercised but I have always been a curvy shape. Now I look at those pics of when I thought I was fat and I wish I was that size again! Hoping through exercise and south beach diet I can lose enough weight to feel comfortable in my own body again. I am new to sparkpeople, started a blog on here as well.

Hi Kari,
I love to cook, bake and food. There are great recipes to be found on this site that make eating enjoyable. I promise.
Welcome MyTime to the team.
Welcome Butterfly. I think fast food is the evil we all have in our lives. If you find making dinner at home is a chore I always recommend Crockpot recipes for 2 reasons (1) they are easy to make and (2) left over for lunch, dinner or anytime you need something.

For anyone new here is a link to how to start with sparks and tools that the site offers.

Hi All!

I have a lot of weight to lose but have a lot of reasons for doing it and this year I am determined not to give up. I managed to lose almost 3 stone last year before I lost my way. And discovered unhealthy fast food again!

I'm 36 and live in the UK, on the south coast. I live with my partner who is also on this adventure with me and we both hope to get fit enough to take part in the Zombie Evacuation race in the autumn emoticon

Mytime, good luck with your 5k goal! I thought about trying to run a 5k. I don't know that it will happen this year, but perhaps next year. But you never know, if I can lose a significant amount of weight by the end of summer beginning of fall I might just do it this year. :) It's awesome to have family that supports you. My sisters are all thin, but they are still very supportive. I just don't think they understand the struggles, but I love them for being there for me. Hubby is on this journey with me. He wants to lose weight as well and he's so wonderful. we keep each other accountable to say the least.
Good luck!!

Hello-it is great to see I am not alone in the seesaw weightloss journey. I have struggled with my weight since my early 20's. Scale goes up...scale goes down. I want off the seesaw, I want to take back my life. I am ready this time, really ready. I have support at home, work and from 2 very loving sisters who are also going thru the same struggle. I figured I would try a community where I can see what motivates other people, how they are finding success. Knowing I am not alone makes this journey a whole lot easier. Here's to taking back my life, to losing weight and to running my first 5K(hopefully by April sometime) emoticon

Newbie here. I am determined to get this weight off this year! I hope to make great connections here, share recipes, encourage one another & just be supportive! :)

I am 38, mother of 4. I am self employed, very involved in my youngest son's school. (Older 3 have all graduated high school.) I love to cook & bake...the latter of the two I think is my down fall. LOL

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

This is not my first go' round lol I am a 32 year old with a beautiful 17 month old and a supportive as he can be fiance/partner, I'll just call him husband because that is really what he is to me. I have struggled since having the baby to lose this lingering 30 pounds and was already about 75-100 pounds overweight anyway. There IS a skinny girl inside here just dying to get out! lol I am back at my heaviest I have ever been 276.5 (right now) highest was 278. Before my hubby and I reconnected 3 years ago I had lost 64 pounds by using diet pills and using the treadmill 5 times a week. I felt great and was starting to feel comfortable with myself again, while still considered 'heavy' at 206 I was SO CLOSE to my goal. Then....I started to gain back the weight, then I got pregnant and now I'm back again feeling just bad.....and fat. So here I am and there it is...hopefully I can find some motivation to get the gym going again. It is hard for me to find time now, honestly the only opportunity I have for the gym is during my lunch break. Due to daycare I can't really go before or after work. And I am lucky enough to have a state of the art gym facility at my job. My poor hubby doesn't understand he is tall and average and has a GREAT metabolism. I was not as blessed. That coupled with being an emotional eater and stress from work is just not a good combination.
I only get about 2 hours with my little javascript:void(0)girl each day, about 30 minutes of that is in the morning. And I'm at work for 9.5 hours with a 30 minute commute each way every day. I am feeling the struggle, of being a 'career mom' and focusing so much on taking care of other people that it has become very hard to focus on myself. I have lost the ability to do so. We are going to Disney World in about 4 months and I have a goal to at least be 40 pounds into my goal. I know I can do it, I just need some help getting there.

Hello everyone.

I'm Cindy. I am recommitting to losing weight. I want to get to a healthy BMI, which would mean that I need to lose about half my current body weight. That said my goal for the year is to lose 52 pounds. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

Hello!

My name is Lanara. I am a 33 year old mother of 1. I am currently separated from my husband of 7 years and know that it is in part due to my self-confidence issues. I have lost 35 lbs so far and have about 100 to go. I'm excited to make new friends on this journey of self-discovery!

Hello everyone! I am not new here, no, this is round 3 for me. I "left" before because of mot being able to get to computer to log in, support and be supported. Up until then, I was a daily fixture in the chat. I hope to be around at least a few times a day. Hope to see you around. emoticon
