I have been on and off this site for awhile. I had a car accident in 2012 that derailed my weight loss journey. I was on no exercise for 6 months due to a back injury. Afterwards, I started a health group at church and exercised 4 times a week while watching what I was eating. (I had been seeing a nutritionist for over 2 years). Somehow, I still managed to gain weight. I watched everyone in my group shrink while I grew. I topped out at my highest recorded weight of 201lbs.

My PCP recommended WLS. I did not receive this news very well. However, after TONS of research, talking to others, and prayers, I determined that my PCP wasn't crazy. I had a gastric sleeve performed on 8/5/13. I have lost 57lbs over the last few months. I have 9lbs to go to reach the doctor's goal for me and 24lbs to reach my goal.

With that being said, I am very happy with how I look and the amazing strides I have made with my self-confidence.

Moderation. Small helpings. Sample a little bit of everything. These are the secrets of happiness and good health. - Julia Child
