Hi everyone,

I just wanted to intorduce myself and thank everyone who has already welcomed me to this site. My main objective for starting with Spark People is that my wife has just enrolled in Weight Watchers and I can support her in tracking her points as I am tracking my calories. Even the short time I have been on here has produced noticable motivation in my wife.
I also joined because I finally got sick of not having a "beach body" even though I am a Marine and am in pretty good shape. I am in the mid 190's, but my total body fat is much higher than I want it to be. I look forward to changing my eating habits so that my workouts and diet can finally get on the same page. I am living proof that training cannot compensate for a crappy diet.
I am currently into training using minimalist style programs using heavy weights for low reps and using cardio to trim the blubber. If there are others that use the same style workouts, let me know what modifications have made things work better for you. I am also looking to find a program that focuses more on the olympic lifts. Thanks again for the warm reception to the site and I hope to hear from you all in the near future.
