Hey all. New to Sparkpeople today. My friend Julie got me into this, and I'm so impressed by her journey that I had to start one of my own.
Little bit about me: newly single mom of two girls, 11 and 9. I am a member of my local Elks lodge, I play the bagpipes in the Edward P. Memorial Pipe Band, and I work at UHS. I love reading, and I want to write a book someday sooner rather than later.
My main goals with Sparkpeople are to lose about 20 pounds, run a 5k (without walking), and to eat and live better.
My main problem though is motivation. I need help staying on task and actually getting my rather large butt moving. Any tips would be appreciated, as well as words of encouragement.
I look forward to meeting many new people, and I want to share my journey. Hopefully, we can team up and do thsi together!
