Welcome Christy. I agree with the whole weigh in and meetings in the weight watchers - just not for me. I also struggled for many years to concieve. My sotry is crazy, but I started the atkins diet after my husband and I had been together for about 7 years (we were trying for kids with no success and had given up by this time). So I went on the diet and eliminated all breads, white processed foods and high carbohydrate foods. At that time I lost 25 pounds. After eating like this for about 6 month (after 7 years no sucess) I became pregnant. I do not necessarily recomend going on such a restrictive diet, however I would say based upon my experience, that by eliminating all the refined sugars from breads, sweets etc, this somehow made be able to concieve. Hi! My name is Christy. I have many reasons for joining this site. First of all, I want to gain support without having to go to another meeting and stand on a scale. I would rather do that in the privacy of my own home - yes, I recently quit weight watchers. I want to get to know people dealing with some of my same struggles - eating too much sugar, getting back into exercise after being gone awhile, and struggling to conceive. I am only 20-25 pounds overweight, but my doctor says that losing weight could help with the infertility stuff. My biggest weaknesses, in regard to food, are ice cream and starbucks frappachino drinks! My cholesterol is high (220) and my triglcerides are high as well. I am still young and do not want to be put on medicine. I want to get this under control with my diet and exercise. Just needing encouragement. I do have a membership to a gym and time - I have no excuses for not working out. Time to do this!!!
